ON HEALTH RISKS FROM EXTREME HEAT
Our Country is experiencing high heat index levels as reported by our state weather bureau PAGASA. The City Health Office advised the public to take precautions as these could also lead to heat-related ilnesses.
Temperatures ranging from 33˚C to 41˚C are classified under “extreme caution,” while 42˚C anywhere up to 51˚C is dangerous as heat exhaustion is likely and there’s a high possibility for heat stroke.
Currently, our City is classified under “Extreme Caution”.
When temperatures are very high, make sure to:
1. Drink plenty of Water / stay hydrated. Sweating removes needed salt and minerals from the body.
2. Stay Cool.
3. Wear light Clothing and sunscreen
