We express our heartfelt appreciation to the Provincial Government of Palawan, under the leadership of Gov. Amy Roa Alvarez - Public Servant, for honoring Sofronio Española District Hospital as one of the province’s exemplary healthcare institutions.

This recognition stems from the results of the 2025 Client Satisfaction Measurement Report (CSMR), a significant initiative of the Department of Health (DOH) that captures the feedback, experiences, and overall satisfaction of patients. Achieving an Outstanding rating (95% and above) in the Service Quality Dimension Score highlights the hospital’s continued dedication to delivering efficient, high-quality, and patient-focused healthcare services, aligned with the standards set by the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA).

The awarding ceremony took place on May 4, 2026, at the Capitol Complex in Puerto Princesa City, where Governor Amy Roa Alvarez personally conferred Certificates of Recognition to the following hospitals:

Today, May 11, 2026, Sofronio Española District Hospital (SEDH) successfully conducted an orientation on the Mother-Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative, led by Ms. Farnisa S. Nasil, RM, midwife at SEDH.

The session highlighted the importance of breastfeeding as a vital foundation for the health and well-being of both mother and child. It also emphasized practical ways on how we, as a healthcare facility, can better support and empower mothers in their breastfeeding journey.

This activity aimed to equip SEDH staff with essential knowledge on breastfeeding, including the policies and guidelines in the proper use of the hospital’s Lactation Room—ensuring a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for our patients.

Through continuous learning and commitment, SEDH remains dedicated to promoting quality, compassionate, and mother-and-child-centered care for our community.
