VITAMIN B17 FOR CANCER: The biomolecule Amygdalin or Laetrile or also known as Vitamin B17 is a molecule consisting of
2 glucose molecules attached to a cyanide group and a benzaldehyde molecule.
It has been studied and used since the early 50’s for its cytotoxic effect on tumors or cancer cells.
It is a natural component found in apricots, apples, berries, plums and peaches.
When taken inside the body, it will undergo hydrolysis reaction whereby enzymes will break it down to its component molecules glucose, cyanide and benzaldehyde.
In a normal cell, after hydrolysis, a secondary mechanism takes place where a specific enzyme called RHODANASE, found only on normal cells, will neutralize both benzaldehyde and cyanide and convert them into non-toxic reactants of the cell.
Benzaldehyde is converted to benzoic acid (helps manage pain) while cyanide is converted to thiocyanate and is used in making vitamin B12.
In a non-normal cell such as tumor or cancer cell, in the absence of the enzyme RHODANASE, the hydrolase enzyme Beta-glucosidase will initiate hydrolysis reaction to break down Vitamin B17 into glucose, benzaldehyde and cyanide. Benzaldehyde will degrade the thick membrane of the walls of these non-normal cells, exposing the internal matrix where cyanide will induce a cytotoxic effect to this internal matrix initiating selective apoptosis which becomes the end point of its existence.
The above mechanism happens just as natural without any harm to the organism. It ends the existence of tumor cells by inducing selective apoptosis and it provides protection to normal cells giving it its anti-oxidant power.
