✨ Respect a Child’s Communication ✨
All behavior is communication. 💬 Whether it’s a word, a gesture, a look away, or even silence—children are always telling us something.
🤚 Respecting a child’s communication means:
🧠 Honoring their ways of expressing themselves
🗣️ Not forcing speech when they’re not ready
🧩 Listening to body language, tone, and actions
💛 Valuing all communication forms—verbal or non-verbal
Let’s shift from “How do I get them to talk?” to
👉 “What are they trying to tell me?”
When we respect their pace, preferences, and voice (however that voice shows up), we build connection, trust, and true communication. 💬🤝
💬 Discussion question:
How has your understanding of your child’s (or student’s) communication changed over time? What helped you tune in better?
