The Local Government Unit of Pandan with RHU staff and DOH HRH, in coordination with the Department of Health, Provincial Health Office, Pandan District Hospital, Med Techs of different health facilities successfully conducted Mobile Blood Donation under the DOH's National Voluntary Blood Services Program.

Residents of various barangays, government employees, personnel under partner agencies, and members of non-government organizations (NGOs) participated in the said activity.

The MBD was carried out purposely to ensure the availability of quality, reliable, and safe blood supply which will be available for patients in times of need.

School-Based Immunization 2025 Officially Launched in Pandan

The Pandan Rural Health Unit has officially launched the School-Based Immunization Program today, August 11, 2025 in various schools across lowland and upland barangays of Pandan to provide free, safe, and essential vaccines to our learners.

The program, also known as “Bakuna Eskwela”, is a Department of Health (DOH) initiative in collaboration with the Department of Education (DepEd) aimed at protecting schoolchildren from vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs) such as measles, rubella, tetanus, diphtheria, and human papillomavirus (HPV).

Grade 7 students received Measles–Rubella (MR) and Tetanus–Diphtheria (Td) vaccines. Simultaneously, Grade 1 pupils were vaccinated with MR and Td, while Grade 4 pupils will receive HPV shots to prevent cervical cancer once vaccines are available.

Through this initiative, we bring life-saving vaccines directly to schools—ensuring a safer, healthier future for our students.

As part of our town fiesta and nutrition month celebration for the promotion of food security and nutritious foods, RHU staff and DOH HRH join in the planting of malunggay cuttings in the different barangays and health facilities of the municipality with the participation of punong barangays, barangay councils, barangay health workers, barangay nutrition scholars and the rest of the residents.

In line with the 2025 annual celebration of the feast of our patron saint, St. Ignatius de Loyola, the RHU and DOH HRH staff conducted information and education campaigns on STI/HIV AIDS and Rabies Prevention and Control Programs to raise awareness on its prevention and control.

Schools visited today are Pandan School of Arts and Trade and Cobo Integrated School.
Thank you to the school principals, teaching and non- teaching personnel and students from the schools involved.

Distribution of flyers and bandilyo/ announcement through the public address system were also done at the community levels. We extend also our gratitude to the Punong barangays, barangay councils and the rest of the consitutents of the 26 barangays for their full support and active participation to our health activities.

Barangay San Roque

"PuroKalusugan” continues to promote community-based healthcare by delivering services directly to barangays.

The team conducted prenatal check-ups for expecting moms, nutrition checks for little ones, BP monitoring for adults, distribution of maintenance medications and PhilPEN Risk Assessment.

Our Rural Sanitary Inspector, also conducted an inspection to assess the sanitation conditions in the barangay

This activity will continue until we have fully optimized risk assessment and management in Brgy. San Roque.

The Health Promotion Bureau Team of the Department of Health Central Office, together with staff of DOH CHD Bicol, Provincial DOH and PHO had their monitoring visit at the LGU - Pandan and Pandan RHU last June 25, 2025 to look into the LGU initiatives and good practices on health promotion program. Thank you very much for coming. We are honored by your visit and humbled by your appreciation of our health activities.

📣 June 18, 2025 Barangay Health Day Highlights!

Isang masigla at makabuluhang araw kasama ang RHU Pandan sa isinagawang Zumba dance session, May Measure Month 2025 (MMM25) BP monitoring, at PhilPEN risk assessment sa barangay Napo, San Roque, at Bagawang!

Kasabay nito ang activation ng ating Hypertension (HPN) at Diabetes Mellitus (DM) Clubs at pamimigay ng maintenance na gamot para sa mga pasyenteng nangangailangan.

Maraming salamat sa lahat ng barangay officials, BHWs, at mga kababayan natin na nakiisa at sumuporta sa ating health activities. Tuloy-tuloy lang tayo sa pagsusulong ng malusog na pamayanan! 🌿✨

RHU Pandan Highlights Blood Pressure Monitoring in May Measure Month 2025

In observance of May Measure Month (MMM25), the Rural Health Unit of Pandan spearheaded a focused campaign on blood pressure (BP) monitoring to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and management of hypertension.

Key activities included:

BP monitoring and risk assessments for LGU employees and community residents.

One-on-one health interviews to educate participants about the risks of high blood pressure and how lifestyle changes can help control it.

Promotion of healthy habits such as regular exercise, proper diet, and stress management.

A fun and energetic Zumba session to promote physical activity as a vital part of BP control.

Activation of the Hypertension (HPN) Club to provide ongoing support and health education for hypertensive clients.

Through this initiative, RHU Pandan emphasizes the crucial role of regular BP monitoring in preventing complications such as heart attack and stroke — reminding everyone that “Knowing your numbers can save your life.”
