RHU Pandan Highlights Blood Pressure Monitoring in May Measure Month 2025

In observance of May Measure Month (MMM25), the Rural Health Unit of Pandan spearheaded a focused campaign on blood pressure (BP) monitoring to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and management of hypertension.

Key activities included:

BP monitoring and risk assessments for LGU employees and community residents.

One-on-one health interviews to educate participants about the risks of high blood pressure and how lifestyle changes can help control it.

Promotion of healthy habits such as regular exercise, proper diet, and stress management.

A fun and energetic Zumba session to promote physical activity as a vital part of BP control.

Activation of the Hypertension (HPN) Club to provide ongoing support and health education for hypertensive clients.

Through this initiative, RHU Pandan emphasizes the crucial role of regular BP monitoring in preventing complications such as heart attack and stroke — reminding everyone that “Knowing your numbers can save your life.”

PuroKalusugan Launching in Barangay San Roque

We officially launched the Purok Kalusugan in Barangay San Roque last May 7, 2025--a program initiated by the Department of Health (DOH) in the Philippines to deliver essential healthcare services directly to communities at the purok, or neighborhood, level. Bringing healthcare services closer to residents. Purok Kalusugan seeks to reduce health disparities and improve health outcomes .

The program aligns with DOH's Eight Point Action agenda including:

💉Immunization Program
🥗 Nutrition Program
🤰 Maternal Care and Family Planning Program
🎗️ Cancer Awarenes
🦠Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Awareness
🚦 Road Safety
🚽🧴🫧WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene

This activity was conducted under the supervision of our MHO, Dr. Ma Theresa Mariano, and PHNs Mr. Saul Sanchez and Ms. Alysa Co**ha Valeza, whose unwavering support and commitment to community health made this initiative possible.

PUROKALUSUGAN LAUNCHING ACTIVITY at Barangay Tariwara, Pandan, Catanduanes.

Bringing healthcare services closer to every communities by bringing them into every purok.

The activity was supported and commence by the active barangay officials and assured continuous support on the implementation of all health programs in the community. Buntis Kits were distributed on pregnant women.
Laboratory test for pregnant mothers were also catered by our Med tech and HRH staff.
