Dear Prof. Cynthia Goh
No words can describe how you have influenced my life to be the best that i can be. Being under you as a Palliative fellow (late night extended clinics, rounds and teaching) was a lifetime privilege and a treasure i'll forever keep. You are excellence and compassion to the detail.
The best way to honor you as my mentor is to emulate all your teachings in my practice. I will continue your legacy through teaching younger colleagues and extending Palliative care here in the Philippines. Until we meet again 🙏
Kim Tagayuna, Philippines
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr Cynthia Goh, peacefully on 13 February 2022. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones ❤️
Dr Goh, a pioneer of palliative care in Singapore and the Asia Pacific, a woman who deserves great admiration and recognition. She dedicated her life to helping others die with dignity and it is through her vision that palliative care in Singapore is where it is today.
The Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network, under the visionary leadership of Dr Goh during her years of involvement at the helm has developed into a significant organisation and network in the region. Her efforts in galvanising the palliative care community in the region, advocating, teaching, training, and mentoring has helped transform the lives of many in the Asia Pacific. This organisation would not be where it is today without her guidance and nurturing, coupled with her resolute and indefatigable faith that we could improve the quality of life of many.
Beyond Dr Goh’s incredible achievements, she has been and will always be an inspiration for the palliative care community.
Dr Goh, we will never forget you. You will remain forever to us, a true inspiration, and a light for future generations.
