Removal of Granuloma 😱
Types of Gum Granulomas
Dental Granuloma (Periapical Granuloma): A chronic infection at the tooth root tip, a reaction to dead pulp (nerve) from deep decay, appearing as a dark spot on X-rays and sometimes a painful gum bump.
Pyogenic Granuloma (PG): A non-cancerous, rapidly growing, red/purple, blood-filled lump on the gum, often from minor injury, poor hygiene, or hormonal changes (like pregnancy).
Common Causes
Infection: Bacteria reaching the tooth pulp from deep cavities or cracks.
Trauma: Injury, irritation from sharp teeth, or ill-fitting dental work.
Hormonal Changes: Pregnancy, puberty, or certain medications.
Poor Oral Hygiene: Accumulation of plaque and calculus.
