I agree.
The DOH today declared that RTPCR testing is not anymore a must. It is just optional and depends on the doctor who assesses the patient.
I myself do not suggest RTPCR or Antigen Testing these days. Para saan pa?
Kung ipapaquarantine ko din lang naman ang pasyente, anong added value ng RTPCR results? Kung malaman nyang positive sya, quarantine pa din naman. Kung negative, e di congrats! 4K nga lang ang kapalit ng kalayaan. Can you imagine how much 4K is sa isang taong minimum-wager? IpapaRTPCR tapos same lang naman pala sasabihin: "magquarantine ka". BS yan! Kawawa naman. Ipambili na lang ng gamot un ipambabayad sa RTPCR.
I was trained by my Alma Mater (medschool) to be always prudent, be critical-minded, be practical, and be just in managing patients. If my management plan won't be affected by the laboratory tests I am planning to order, bakit ko pa ipapagawa? Ganun din naman pala irereseta ko o iaadvice ko sa tao kahit ano pang lumabas na resulta. Gastos lang yan sa pasyente. Kawawa naman.
Just follow the recommended quarantine period and if asymptomatic 2 days before the quarantine period, parolado na! Matic na yan!
This is just me. My own personal thing. Many doctors might not agree with me in this and I respect their views. To each his own.
