Go, therefore, and make disciples from all nations. Baptize them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to fulfill all that I have commanded you. I am with you always until the end of this world."
-Matthew 28:19-20
I am sure that we all have plans for this year 2020. I recall waking up back at Jan 1st in the morning writing up my plan and being both positive and anxious, then bam! A pandemic occurred and we are all on quarantine! My business plans are put on hold, travels cancelled, celebrations on rain check and all sorts of things was put on halt. And to add it all up disaster upon disaster happened. I recall the day that we got the confirmation from the doctor that a family member has cancer. Recently also we got news that the father of a close family relative died of a heart attack. Hearing all sorts of bad news from the world and to my own I went to a nearby chapel for a breather. Picture this, due to Covid 19 there were signs that masses are cancelled, the room was dark and the place was empty that you can hear a pin drop. The atmosphere of the deserted chapel made me feel figuratively alone. I believe this is also how the apostles felt when Jesus was about to Ascend into heaven. Even though He gave them all and gave his all fear and doubt came into their minds. Even though they were thought and given everything that they need to know the impact of seeing someone leave is sure upsetting. But like a what a famous band once sang:
"We'll carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on"
We have to carry things on, carry all the lessons that was thought to us, especially the tough ones. Like Christ said to disciples and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world. As everything happens for a reason Christ is also with us wherever we are and to whatever things we are dealing with.
