From the Philippine Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (PSDBP)
The Philippine Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics (PSDBP) advises parents and caregivers to exercise caution when availing of developmental or neurodevelopmental assessments being offered by certain groups on social media. These organizations are not certified nor recognized by the PSDBP.
Our members are licensed, board-certified pediatricians who have completed formal subspecialty training in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics from accredited institutions. They are qualified to provide comprehensive, personalized, and evidence-based care for children with developmental, behavioral, and learning needs.
We wish to remind everyone that not all developmental assessments are the same. Different professionals โ teachers, therapists, psychologists, and doctors โ each have their own valuable role in understanding a childโs growth and needs.
This advisory is being issued in response to reports of individuals or groups claiming to be Developmental or Neurodevelopmental Pediatricians without proper training or certification. Our intention is not to discredit other professionals, but to protect families and ensure that medical developmental assessments are conducted only by qualified and board-certified specialists.
As Developmental and Behavioral Pediatricians, we strongly value teamwork. We work closely with psychologists, therapists, educators, and families to make sure that every child receives care that is comprehensive, coordinated, and compassionate.
Before booking a developmental assessment, please take a moment to verify professional credentials and ensure your childโs care is in trusted, qualified hands.
