Measles outbreak is now being reported in the United States, mainly due to decreasing vaccination rates and poor compliance to vaccines. Measles is highly preventable, vaccines are effective!

Here in the Philippines, we give Measles vaccine at 9 months but in cases of outbreaks, it can be given as early as 6 months! The second dose of measles can be given at 12-15 months together with Mumps and German Measles (MMR) vaccine.

In Manila we still continue to see isolated cases of Measles mainly in kids who were not vaccinated. Talk to your pediatrician about Measles vaccine and if you or your child is eligeable for a booster!

Here at FamCare Medical Clinic were making NIPT affordable for all expectant mothers. NIPT or Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing can be done starting at 10 weeks of pregnancy. It can detect accurately the gender, as well as some of the most common chromosomal abnormalities that can affect your babies such as Down Syndrome, Edwards Syndrome, Patau Syndrome, along with other s*x chromosome abnormalities.

FamCare Medical Clinic is one with the Department of Health in promoting vaccine awareness this World Immunization Week. Magtungo sa mga Health Centers or sa inyong Private Pediatricians upang makasiguro na up-to-date ang mga bakuna ng inyong mga anak. Ligtas at siguro ang mga bakuna laban sa mga vaccine preventable disease tulad ng Hepatitis, Dipterya, Tuspirina (ubong dalahit), Tetano, Polio, Rotavirus oral vaccine, Tigdas, Beke, German Measles, Bulutong, at Flu o trangkaso.
