Yesterday, we joined the Angels Walk for Autism, and it was a meaningful reminder of why we do this work every day.
Walking alongside families, we were reminded that every child’s journey is different, but no one has to go through it alone. We saw parents guiding, encouraging, and celebrating their children in their own ways. Some moments were quiet, like a child holding a hand a little longer or taking a few brave steps forward. For many families, those moments mean everything.
We also saw older individuals on the spectrum showing confidence and independence. It was a beautiful picture of what is possible over time, with the right support and understanding.
For parents, we know the journey can feel overwhelming. There are days filled with questions and uncertainty. But yesterday was a gentle reminder that you are part of a community that understands and supports you.
Your child does not need to follow anyone else’s timeline. Progress can be slow, and sometimes it may not be obvious right away, but it is still there. What matters is that your child is moving forward in their own way.
And what you do as a parent truly matters. The patience, the consistency, and the love you give each day create a strong foundation for your child.
As we continue with our sessions, we carry the stories and moments we witnessed yesterday. We hope you carry them too.
Keep going. Even the smallest steps count.
