Our clinic started in 1984 under a different name entity, PASAY TAFT POLYCLINIC which totally got burned in 1990. It then transferred to Padre Faura St., Manila using the name PADRE FAURA POLYCLINIC. In 1994, it transferred to Magallanes Makati City, in its previous address at DHI Bldg., Lapu-lapu St., just across the present location of the clinic now.
In 1995, the Sacred Heart Diagnostic Medical Clinic registered at the Department of Trade and Industry as a sole proprietorship.
In 1996, the clinic was accredited by the Department of Health and Philippine Overseas Employment Association (POEA) and since then, have renewed yearly, with no single problem encountered by the patients examined for overseas employment.
On April 23, 1999, the clinic became a family corporation and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission under its present name, Sacred Heart Diagnostic Medical Center, Inc.
As part of the clinic’s apostolate, as service to the poor Filipino people is its main concern, the clinic has been very active in doing medical – dental missions all over the Philippines, which started since 1990, even as the first clinic got totally burned. The first missions were done at the Mt. Pinatubo areas, (Zambales – Bataan – Pampanga) where medical outreaches were done almost monthly, till the devastated areas recovered. 1992 – 1996, the clinic became very active in the dissemination of medical programs against the growing hepatitis B infections in the country. Lectures and vaccinations against this dreaded disease were done, from far flung Zambales to the opposite end of Laguna.
In 1997 to present date, the clinic became the official clinic and medical partner of the CBCP – Episcopal Commission on Clergy, headed by our very own Archbishop of Manila – Cardinal Elect, Gaudencio CARDINAL B. Rosales. Presently, the clinic has the dream to service all priests, religious, the poor, in its upcoming medical – dental missions in the very near future.
In October 23, 2002, the clinic was first ISO – certified by Lloyds with flying colors.
On March 5, 2005, SHDMCI was blessed and inaugurated by no less than His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Gaudencio Rosales D.D., Archbishop of Manila, as the clinic relocated to a bigger and better area in Paseo de Magallanes, Maga Centre in an almost 300 sqm. Area. Each department is housed individually in a room (Dental, Medical-ultrasound, x-ray, optical, laboratory, ECG, drug testing area,audiometry, psychological testing room, surgical room, treatment room).
On September 30, 2005, SHDMCI was given the award as the “Most Outstanding Small Business Enterprise in Makati City, category SERVICE” by the Makati Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), with automatic membership by the prestigious body.
Simultaneously, MCCI included the clinic as one of its corporate members.
On October 21, 2005, SHDMCI renewed ISO certification with SGS Philippines-UKAS, certified last December 2005.
SACRED HEART DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL CENTER, INC. (SHDMCI) on record was chosen by United Kingdom (UK) Department of Health, together with POEA to be the sole medical retainer for all their market ( more specifically nurses) ,from January 2002- to January 2006, which speaks well of the clinic’s integrity, with no single problem related to medical results of nurses who have gone through the medical protocol and facilities.
In the year 2007, December, the clinic put up a foundation,” SACRED HEART PRIESTLY MISSION FOUNDATION, INC.”, with His Eminence Gaudencio Cardinal B. Rosales as Chairman of the foundation, with the Medical Director (Dr. Luzviminda S. Jose) as the President. The two (2) main purposes of the foundation are the continuation of the medical – dental missions nationwide and medical assistance to the priests and religious.

In 2009, the British Chamber of Commerce- Philippines accredited Sacred Heart Diagnostic Medical Clinic, Inc. as one of its corporate members.
The Clinic being ISO Certified follows the scope of its Quality Management System based on the precept of ISO 9001:2000 which provides pre-employment medical examination to both land-based and sea-based workers and local referrals to determine their medical fitness for employment overseas or locally.
Presently, the clinic is working on the upgrading of its certification, ISO 9001:2008 version.
