Just Mask: Anti-Viral Face Mask
Mandatory use of face masks has been implemented in the Philippines to slow down the spread of covid-19 virus. The requirement was prompted by the World Health Organization which found that droplet transmission is one of the major spreading ways for coronavirus as people can easily be infected by others if they don’t wear face-masks. The virus can be taken by the droplet from a person when a person is speaking, coughing or sneezing and fly into others’ noses or mouths.
The Philippine government imposed the usage of masks for all people alongside social distancing. Since then, face masks have been an essential product being used to protect everyone from the pandemic.
With the increasing demand for face masks, almost all sales channels that are operational have been looking for supplies of masks. There was period in which facemasks were overpriced because of the lack of supply. Main source of facemasks in the Philippines come from importation from China, India, Taiwan and other countries to address demand, while there are also locally produced cloth masks available. As of the moment, facemasks with variation of medical grade, single use or disposable masks, washable and cloth masks are still not enough to cover our entire population.
Supermarkets, groceries, convenience stores are already starting to sell disposable facemasks but still is not enough to cater the demand.
