Accept Your State of Mind

Whatsoever your state of mind, accept it and wait for when the state changes itself. You are not changing it; you can feel the beauty that comes when states change by themselves. You can know that it is just like the sun rising in the morning and then setting in the evening. Then again it will rise and again it will set, and it will go on. You need not do anything about it. If you can feel your states of mind changing by themselves, you can remain indifferent, you can remain away, miles away, as if the mind is going somewhere else. The sun is rising, setting; the depression is coming, the happiness is coming, going: but you are not in it.

A tough one. Notice he says "happiness is coming and going" but only "the depression is coming." Depression, in my experience, comes and makes itself at home. Stepping back to watch depression is a long dance. For me, watching and also taking action is needed e.g. take a walk, dance, do something to move the energy. Perhaps courage is lacking. As he often said, we are alone, totally alone. And Osho's love and loving friends are precious. As Bette Midler said, do you wanna dance?

A MEDITATOR NEVER BECOMES OLD. The body certainly becomes old -- it follows the law of the earth. But the meditator never becomes old -- because he knows that he is not the body. He is consciousness and CONSCIOUSNESS IS BEYOND TIME. It is always young, always fresh.

In that dimension of your being all is always young, eternally young.

And once we have even tasted that youth, that inner youth, we have tasted something of immortality.

MEDITATION IS THE ONLY REAL ALCHEMY. All else that goes on being written in the name of alchemy is just bu****it, occult nonsense, esoteric rubbish.

THE TRUE SCIENCE consists of only one thing -- that is MEDITATION -- because that is the bridge from the body to consciousness.

ONCE YOU HAVE REACHED your center of being and once you have known that you are consciousness, YOU ARE BEYOND BIRTH, BEYOND DEATH. And when one is beyond time, great joy arises because all fears disappear, all darkness disappears.

A SCIENTIFIC STUDY ON THE EFFECTS OF
Osho DYNAMIC MEDITATION ON THE HUMAN BRAIN.

A medical doctor and meditator for twenty-five years, Dr. FEDERICO MONTECUCCO'S particular interest during the past ten years has been centered on making the process of human evolution accessible to the scientific mind.
In this article he puts forth some experiments of brain evolution based on the third stage of DYNAMIC MEDITATION which is raising hands jumping up and down landing on the soles of feet and shouting the mantra, "Hoo! Hoo!"

❓What is the difference between the brain,
the mind, consciousness and no-mind?

The brain is a machine and the mind is the
functioning of that machine. Consciousness, also known as no-mind or the watcher or the witness - or, in diverse traditions, as the soul, the spirit, the no-self is that which observes both, which is independent of both.

Science believes that the brain exists like a machine and mind is just an activity. End of story. Consciousness doesn't exist as far as scientists are concerned.

They believe that all evolution is just by chance. There is no intelligence; no consciousness is needed for evolution to happen. To that extent human evolution is absolutely haphazard. For scientists the greatest achievements of evolution, the pinnacle of evolution is a bigger and better mind.

In my understanding the ultimate in individual evolution is our realization of who or what we are.

❓And the brain: Isn't there more than one brain, in fact?

Yes, we have three brains. First is the REPTILIAN BRAIN. This is the most primitive, being related to instinct to s*x, sleep, food, survival, aggression. Psychosomatically it is related to the area and activity of the abdomen.

Second is the MAMMALIAN BRAIN, the emotional brain. It is psychosomatically related to the area of the chest.

Finally there is the MENTAL or HUMAN brain the part through which we can have a virtual picture of external reality. In this virtual, mental world we can create fantasies, heaven and hell. This brain controls and inhibits the mammalian and reptilian brain i.e. emotions and instincts. This a social /cultural hierarchy, which is very unnatural.

Scientists discovered that the three brains don't work together; in fact they are really in a mind of schizo-physiology. This is the normal state but not a healthy one. It means that even our body-mind is divided. We revert to a normal state of functioning through meditation. When the brain works as a whole, the different parts of it are in deeper coherence or synchronicity.

The Osho vision of the "new man" is a human being that has no separation in the mind-body complex because he functions as a unity of
consciousness. This means that in him the three brains are no longer working against each other but as a WHOLE.

❓Can you explain your understanding of how the Osho DYNAMIC MEDITATION works on and through the three different brains?

DYNAMIC MEDITATION is one of the most scientific methods to heal and to create integrity between the three parts of the body - the BODY, MIND and HEART - and between the THREE BRAINS.

The first stage of the method, "fire" breathing, works on the REPTILIAN BRAIN, allowing us to break free of the control of the higher brain. So emotions and instincts are freed up.

The second stage, catharsis, works on the
MAMMALIAN brain, by cleaning the blocked emotions and freeing old mental memories and shocks.

In the third stage, jumping and hammering the first chakra with sound, you move the energy up to the high part of the body, and by so doing return to a deep sense of integrity. You can get to a point when you are jumping totally effortlessly for fifteen minutes.

According to the system of acupuncture there
are several ENERGY POINTS in the soles of the feet which are very important. We discovered through our machines that by impacting the soles of the feet - as you do in the third stage - you positively impact the brain, hence the significance of landing on the flat of the feet, including the heel.

By the fourth stage, stopping suddenly and remaining as if frozen, the whole system is already in a deep unity and the energy moves freely through all the body. You are no longer fragmented but have a fluid being. This is the base ground from which you can go into the experience of yourself. As Osho has said, all the other stages are preparatory: this is the point at which MEDITATION can be experienced.

Most of the Osho MEDITATIONS are structured like this. They are incredibly scientific, the
inspiration of a genius! As far as I know nothing like this has existed before, something so methodically and scientifically thought through, so condensed into the space of one hour and so contemporary in its structure.
