As we wrap up The Medical City Department of Internal Medicine’s 19th Post Graduate Course, Day 3 was a powerful finale filled with wisdom, reflection, and celebration.

🦠 Pandemic Perspectives:
We revisited the ongoing impact of Long COVID, explored the evolving world of infectious diseases, and tackled the clinical challenges of managing refractory shock.

⚖️ The Right to Health:
Our speakers took a stand for equity—highlighting the legal, ethical, and practical implications of Universal Health Care in the Philippines.

🧠 INSIGHTS Quiz Bee:
We closed the day with a spirited battle of the minds, celebrating our residents’ brilliance, speed, and teamwork! Congratulations to all the participants and winners! 🎉

In a crash course on different types of shock and the intricacies of refractory shock, critical care specialist Dr Erric Cinco educated the audience on the role of multidisciplinary care in this condition. Advances such as artificial intelligence, combined with human intelligence called augmented intelligence has helped monitor patients in the ICU and pull them out of the dangerous shock state.
