BAWAL MANIGARILYO SA TANGGAPAN NG GOBYERNO

Upang maprotektahan and kalusugan ng mga kawani at publiko na bumibisita sa mga tanggapan ng gobyerno, inilabas ng Civil Service Commission ang Memorandum No. 17, s. 2009 na nagsasaad na:

• Bawal manigarilyo sa mga pampublikong tanggapan na nagbibigay ng serbisyong kalusugan, edukasyon, kagalingang panlipunan at pagpapaunlad (social welfare and development), tulad ng ospital, health centers, daycare centers, public playgrounds, paaralan, kolehiyo at unibersidad at mga lugr na pinupuntahan ng kabataan.

• Sa ibang mga tanggapan ng gobyerno, maari lang manigarilyo sa itinalagang SMOKING AREAS na:
- nasa labas ng gusali at dapat ay walang permanente o pansamantalang bubong o pader;
- 10 metro o 33 feet ang layo sa mga pasukan, labasan o pinagpupulungan ng publiko;
- hindi lalampas sa 10 metro kuwadrado (sqm) ang laki;
- limitado sa isang smoking area lamang sa isang gusali;
- hindi naghahanda ng pagkain o inumin; at
- mayroong nakalagay na karatulang "Smoking Area"

Ang mga kawani ng gobyerno na lalabag sa kautusang ito ay may kaukalang disciplinary action.

Ang publiko ay hinihikayat na sumunod sa kautusang ito kapag bumubisita sa mga tanggapan ng gobyerno. Hinihikayat din silang mag-report ng anumang makikitang paglabag ng mga kawani sa kinauukulan ng tanggapang pinuntahan o sa Civil Service Commission.
