In celebration of World TB Day yesterday, three Active Case Finding (ACF) activities were successfully conducted in key areas of Pasig City — Maybunga Floodway Health Center, Pasig City General Hospital and PITODA Terminal of Brgy Caniogan, Pasig.

This initiative was made possible through our strong partnership with Culion Foundation Inc., Digihealth Specialist and Mccare.

Active Case Finding (ACF) plays a vital role in the fight against tuberculosis. Instead of waiting for patients to seek consultation, we actively go into communities to identify individuals with symptoms early, ensuring timely diagnosis and treatment.
To enhance early detection, ULTRA PORTABLE XRAY WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE was utilized during the screening activities, allowing faster, more accurate identification of possible tuberculosis cases in the community.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff of Caniogan Health Center and Maybunga Health Center, as well as the Barangay Officials of Caniogan, Pasig, for their invaluable support and collaboration in making this activity successful.

Together, we continue to move closer to a TB-free Pasig 💚

Matatag ang baga, pero kailangan din ng tamang pag-aalaga. Huwag hayaan pahinain ito ng Tuberculosis. Kung nakakaranas ng ubo ng dalawang linggo o higit pa magpa-check up agad. 🫁☺
❗TANDAAN: Ang TB ay kayang iwasan at kayang gamutin.

Active Case Finding (ACF) Activity for Tuberculosis Conducted Alongside Medical Mission in Barangay Sto. Tomas.

An Active Case Finding (ACF) for Tuberculosis (TB) was successfully conducted alongside a comprehensive medical mission in Barangay Sto. Tomas. This initiative aimed to enhance early detection of TB by proactively reaching individuals in the community, particularly those who may not seek medical attention on their own. The activity was part of a broader effort to bring essential health services closer to the people and reduce missed TB cases.

Various free health services were offered during the event, including Chest X-ray screening for TB, medical consultations, Tuberculin Skin Testing (TST), Family Planning services, Flu vaccination, and other primary care services. A total of 105 individuals availed the free Chest X-ray, which led to the identification of 19 presumptive TB cases. Sputum samples were collected from these individuals for Xpert MTB/RIF testing to confirm diagnosis and initiate appropriate treatment.

The success of the activity was made possible through the strong support and active involvement of the Barangay Officials of Sto. Tomas, led by Barangay Captain Eya Lati- Raymundo as well as the Barangay Health Center staff, the different Pasig City Health Department Program Coordinators, and the dedicated Pasig Health Aides. Their collaboration and teamwork ensured the smooth implementation of the activity and effective mobilization of the community.

Together, through continued collaboration and unwavering commitment to Active Case Finding and timely treatment, we move closer to ending tuberculosis—not only in Barangay Sto. Tomas but throughout the entire Pasig City, ensuring a healthier, TB-free future for all its residents.

"ORIENTATION ON THE POLICIES FOR MOBILIZATION OF PASIG HEALTH AIDES ON TB MONITORING"

📍 Balsancat Covered Court, E. Santos, Brgy. Pinagbuhatan
📅 August 14 – September 12, 2025

Over the past month, from August 14 to September 12, seven batches of Pasig Health Aides (PHAs) from various barangays gathered at the Balsancat Covered Court in Barangay Pinagbuhatan for a series of orientation sessions aimed at strengthening their capacity to support the city’s tuberculosis (TB) control efforts.
Each session was more than just a training—it was a reaffirmation of the City’s commitment to empower grassroots health workers who serve as vital links between our health system and the communities they serve.

The orientation provided PHAs with a clearer and deeper understanding of their role in the National Tuberculosis Control Program (NTP). Participants learned about updated local policies and operational guidelines, especially concerning TB case detection, treatment adherence monitoring, patient follow-up, and contact investigation. Emphasis was placed not only on managing cases but also on the prevention of TB through community education and early intervention.

Beyond the technical knowledge, the sessions also focused on enhancing the PHAs' skills in accurate documentation, data reporting, and effective coordination with health centers and other partners in health —ensuring that every case is tracked, every patient is supported, and no one is left behind.

A key message throughout the orientation was the importance of community involvement. PHAs are not just health aides; they are educators, advocates, and connectors who help bring life-saving services closer to those who need them most.
Through this initiative, Pasig City continues to invest in building a strong, informed, and policy-aligned network of community health workers who are ready to champion public health in every corner of our city.

To all our Pasig Health Aides—THANK YOU for your unwavering dedication and service. You are the heartbeat of our community health efforts. 💙
