GUGMA in Action for the Healthiest Capisnons:
3,116 CHV’s from the 2nd District Receive Service Incentives

Around 3,116 Community Health Volunteer’s (CHV’s) from the 2nd District gathered today at the Capiz Gymnasium for the distribution of their service incentives under the leadership of Gov. Fredenil H. Castro. A total of 3,116 community health volunteer’s composed of Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) and Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPOs) received ₱4,000 each representing their 1st and 2nd quarter incentives in recognition of their dedication and invaluable service in delivering basic health services to our communities and as Health Promotion Officer at the barangay level.

As Department Head of the Provincial Health Office, I am grateful to have spearheaded this activity together with my hardworking PHO team and partners who helped ensure the successful conduct of the distribution. We also extend our appreciation to Vice Gov. James Magbanua; Board Members Cecilio Fecundo, Gilbert Ardivilla & Prince Rovic Gardose, Aldwin Cruz-am and Neriza Joy San Felix; Sapian Mayor Jose Villanueva, Cuartero Mayor Stephen Opiniano, Sigma Mayor Dante Rizal Eslabon, Dao Mayor Jimbo Baruela and Vice Mayor Gley Hacuela; Provincial Administrator Atty. Arthur John Biñas, 1st District Deputy Administrator Enrique Ricky Martin, 2nd District Deputy Administrator Rosemarie Gardose and Mr. Rio Garcia, for their continued support to our Community Health Volunteers as we work together towards achieving the Healthiest Capisnons.

Watch out for our May & June Bus Stop as the TB Active Case Finding initiative of the Capiz PHO continues to bring free Chest X-ray services closer to the community.

Funded by USAID and carried out by my team from the PHO under the priority health programs of Gov. Fredenil H. Castro, this initiative aims to serve 100–200 individuals per deployment to strengthen TB prevention efforts and help detect, manage, and treat TB cases early for safer and healthier communities.

GUGMA in Action for the Healthiest Capisnons, 70th Deployment: Bringing Healthcare Closer to Barangay Tico, Pan-ay

“Madamo gid nga salamat kay Gov. Oto Castro sa pagdala sang GUGMA Medical & Dental Team diri sa Panay, kaupod ang Capiz PHO kag mga hospitals,” amo ina ang mga tinaga ni Mayor Sonny Besa kag Brgy. Capt. Dondon Villaraiz sang Pan-ay sa ila mensahe during our 70th GUGMA Medical & Dental Outreach Program.

The 70th deployment of the GUGMA Medical & Dental Team is an initiative of Gov. Fredenil H. Castro and supported by Vice Gov. James Magbanua, together with the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Capiz, the Municipality of Pan-ay, and the barangay officials of Brgy. Tico and its neighboring barangays.

Behind this successful deployment was the dedication and support of my team from the Capiz PHO and the five Capiz Provincial Government Hospitals, all working together to deliver healthcare services at the barangay level with compassion and hope towards healthier Capisnons!

GUGMA in Action for the Healthiest Capisnons, 69th Deployment: Bringing Healthcare Closer to Barangay Mangoso, Sigma

As early as 4:30 in the morning, our team from the Capiz Provincial Health Office (PHO) and the five Capiz Provincial Government Hospitals set out with one clear mission, to bring healthcare services closer to the people of Barangay Mangoso, Sigma. Upon arrival, our healthcare team was warmly welcomed by the community, a touching reminder of how meaningful it is for families to receive hospital and healthcare services directly in their barangay through the leadership and vision of Gov. Fredenil H. Castro.

This 69th deployment of the GUGMA Medical & Dental Outreach Program once again highlighted the commitment of the Capiz Provincial Government to accessible and compassionate healthcare, delivering essential medical services directly to communities that need them most.

Supporting this initiative were Vice Governor James Magbanua, Deputy Provincial Administrator Ricky Martin, Board Members Gilbert Ardivilla, Aldwin Cruz-am, Aying Fundal, and Inday San Felix, together with the local officials of Sigma. Representing Mayor Dante Rizal Eslabon was Dr. Maria Teresa Gallardo-Tan alongside the Barangay officials of Mangoso, whose partnership and support helped make the outreach activity meaningful and successful.

As the Provincial Health Officer of Capiz, I am proud to witness how this flagship program of Gov. Fred Castro continues to bridge healthcare gaps and bring the services of the Capiz Provincial Government directly to the barangays where they are needed most.

Together, we move closer to a healthier, stronger and more empowered province, towards the Healthiest Capisnons!
