📌📌You need to inform the facialist about what skin products (like astringents) the client is using before topical anesthesia because those products can change how the skin reacts during and after the procedure.📌📌

1. Skin sensitivity & irritation –
Astringents remove oil and tighten skin, but they also strip away the protective barrier. This makes skin more sensitive to anesthesia injections or topical anesthetics, increasing the risk of redness, stinging, or irritation.

2. Allergic or chemical interactions –
Some ingredients (like alcohol, witch hazel, salicylic acid) in astringents can interact with anesthetic agents, causing burning sensations or even mild chemical burns.

3. Absorption changes –
If the skin barrier is compromised, topical anesthetics may absorb faster or deeper than intended, increasing the risk of side effects like numbness spreading to unintended areas.

4. Procedure safety & healing –
Damaged or overly dry skin from astringents may heal more slowly or have uneven results after procedures involving needles, lasers, or exfoliation.
