Statement of the PHILIPPINE ORTHOPAEDIC ASSOCIATION, INC. on the DANGEROUS and ILLEGAL practice of "Bone Setting"

It is with deep concern that we note the increasing number of Filipinos turning to alternative joint and bone treatments for fractures—including open fractures—joint dislocations, and ligament injuries.

Alarmingly, many so‑called bone setters present themselves as professionals. Even worse, they actively promote their services on social media, influencing communities, particularly those who are economically vulnerable.

Beyond joint and bone health, this has become a serious public safety issue.

In response, the Philippine Orthopaedic Association (POA) has issued a public advisory regarding these practitioners.

Please consult with legitimate and board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeons.
