[ICYMI] PNA Palawan strengthens professional collaboration in MIMAROPA

The Philippine Nurses Association, Inc. – Palawan Chapter actively participated in the “Strengthening Professional Networks: Capacity Building for Accredited Integrated Professional Organizations (AIPOs) and Accredited Professional Organizations (APOs) in MIMAROPA,” facilitated by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) MIMAROPA under the leadership of the Regional Director, Dr. Reynaldo D. Agcaoili. The activity served as a vital platform for dialogue, capacity building, and strengthened collaboration among professional organizations in the region.

The activity was held on December 18, 2025, at the American Corner, University Library, Palawan State University, Tiniguiban Heights, Puerto Princesa City. Key agenda items included the introduction of participating AIPOs, APOs, and professional organizations, as well as a discussion of PRC Resolution No. 1910 s. 2024 on the revised guidelines for accreditation of professional organizations and integrated professional organizations; PRC Resolution No. 1837 s. 2024 on the guidelines for the oath-taking of new professionals and former Filipino professionals; the process of application as a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Provider; updates on PRC IV-B (MIMAROPA) developments and projects; and the election of officers of the Society of Professionals in MIMAROPA.

Representing the Philippine Nurses Association were Nurse Darius Carl P. Junio, Palawan’s Representative to the PNA House of Delegates, and Nurse Joycelyn F. Dalendeg, President of the PNA Palawan Chapter, reaffirming the Association’s commitment to professional excellence, ethical practice, and interprofessional collaboration.

[UPDATE] PNA Palawan supports a milestone in licensure modernization!

The Philippine Nurses Association, Inc. – Palawan Chapter joins the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) MIMAROPA in celebrating the opening of the first Computer-Based Licensure Examination (CBLE) Testing Center in the MIMAROPA Region, officially inaugurated on December 18, 2025, at the Goland Building, Puerto Princesa City.

This landmark initiative brings licensure examinations closer to home, reducing travel costs, easing logistical burdens, and enabling faster release of results for aspiring professionals, especially our Palawan examinees.

The ribbon-cutting and blessing ceremony was marked by strong multi-sectoral participation, with representatives from the Local Government Units of Puerto Princesa City, Taytay, and Coron; higher education institutions including Western Philippines University, Palawan State University, Palawan Polytechnic College, Inc., Fullbright College, and San Brendan College, Inc.; and various professional organizations based in Palawan, all demonstrating unified support for the modernization of licensure examination services in the region.

Representing PNA were Nurse Darius Carl P. Junio, Palawan’s Representative to the PNA House of Delegates, and, on behalf of Dr. Maria Lourdes C. Bañaga, the PNA Region IV Governor (CALABARZON and MIMAROPA), together with Nurse Joycelyn F. Dalendeg, PNA Palawan Chapter President, conveying PNA’s full support and commitment to a sustained partnership with PRC MIMAROPA.

Together, we move forward in strengthening accessible, efficient, and equitable licensure services for the region.

With 99 examinees achieving a remarkable 100% passing rate, PalSU has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to excellence in nursing education. This noteworthy achievement brings great pride to the Province of Palawan.

PNA Palawan receives Certificate of Accreditation for 2026-2027

The Philippine Nurses Association, Inc. - Palawan Chapter proudly received its Certificate of Accreditation for the term 2026-2027, awarded by the PNA - Pambansang Samahan ng mga Nars ng Pilipinas during the 2025 Annual National Convention held on October 23, 2025, at The SMX Convention Center, Lanang, Davao City, Philippines.

Receiving the award are Chapter President Joycelyn F. Dalendeg, Nurse Darius Carl P. Junio, Palawan Chapter Representative to the PNA House of Delegates. They were joined by Dr. Melbert B. Reyes, Past PNA President and Past Region IV Governor, together with fellow nurses from Palawan.

This recognition reaffirms our chapter's continued commitment to excellence, service, and teamwork among Palawan nurses.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Victor C. Quimen, Jr., Chairperson of the Committee on Chapter Affairs, Dr. Ritzmond Loa, Chairperson of the Department of Internal Affairs, and Dr. Maria Lourdes C. Bañaga, Governor of Region IV, for their guidance and support.

PAGPUPUGAY AT PASASALAMAT: Congratulations to the 147 newly registered nurses who took their oath on July 5, 2025, at the Citystate Asturias Hotel Palawan.

This oath taking ceremony is a tribute to the hard work, perseverance, and dedication of our new nurses who have sucessfully passed the May 2025 Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination.

With the theme, “Championing the Welfare of Filipino Nurses Towards a Sustainable Nursing Workforce,” Hon. Zenaida C. Gagno reflected on the realities of nursing practice—both here in the Philippines and abroad. She gave update on advanced practice nursing with emphasis on primary health care. Above all, her words reminded everyone that being a nurse is not only about competence, but also about character—to dream beyond borders, to lead with purpose, and to serve with heart.

Congratulations also to Holy Trinity University, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan as Top 5 performing schools in Nursing recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission.
