STRAY DOG LINKED TO FATAL CASE IN DI**LE
A 33-year-old man from the town of Di**le has become Iloilo’s second rabies fatality this year, according to the Provincial Health Office (PHO).
The patient first showed symptoms on July 12—shoulder and stomach pain—prompting an initial hospital visit where he received medication and lab tests.
Days later, his condition worsened with difficulty swallowing, hallucinations, irritability, and breathing trouble.
The man was rushed back to the hospital on July 17 but died while undergoing treatment. He had no known dog or cat bite history, according to PHO.
However, a stray dog reportedly entered his home and attacked his pet dog. The stray later died, and the patient personally buried it.(FCSA/ )
