For Whom are you really doing it for?
Sometimes it's really hard to know if we are still doing something for the Lord or just for our own ego, image, or healing season. Because on the outside, it can still look good, like, yes, you're productive, consistent, and even being praised by others.
But in Genesis 11, we learn about a group of people who are super united. They came together to build a tower.... ambitious, visionary, impressive.
But their goal? "Let us make a name for ourselves. " The Lord is not there for their reason. It was all about human pride, not God's glory.
So what happened? God stopped them. He confused their language. Not to punish them, but to lovingly redirect them. He knew that any structure built apart from Him will eventually fall.
So how do you know if what you are doing is for the Lord?
β’ When you are not bitter if not recognized.
β’ When you can continue even when no one is watching.
β’ When your joy is not in the result, but in obedience.
β’ When the Lord is still the center and not your own agenda.
Sometimes, God interrupts your "progress" not to delay you, but to protect you. Because His greatest concern is not your image, it's your heart.
Don't be discouraged if you realize that you forgot to submit and consult the Lord in your decisions in life. You can always go back.
God doesn't cancel people, He corrects and realigns them. He's not after your perfect output. He wants your surrendered obedience.
So breathe. Pause. Ask this again, "Lord, are we building this together?"
If yes, go ahead.
If not, reset.
Because anything done with God will never be wasted.
