What is a Respiratory Therapist?
A respiratory therapist (RT) is a certified healthcare professional specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders. Working under the supervision of a physician, RTs care for patients of all ages, from premature infants with underdeveloped lungs to older adults with chronic lung diseases.
