Today is World Sight Day : Love Your Eyes 👀

02/09/2025

September is NICU Awareness Month.
Every year, nearly 1 in 10 babies is born prematurely or with critical health challenges that require specialized neonatal intensive care. Behind each of these tiny fighters is a family navigating uncertainty, hope, and resilience — supported by dedicated NICU teams who provide expert care and compassion.

This month, we honor the babies who have spent time in the NICU, celebrate the families who love them, and recognize the healthcare professionals who stand beside them every step of the way.

Whether you’re a NICU graduate, a family member, a healthcare provider, or a supporter, your story and voice matter. Together, we can raise awareness, build community, and shine a light on the journey of NICU families everywhere.

Join us all month long as we share stories, resources, and ways you can support NICU families.

Children’s Eye Exams Before School Starts

A child’s success in school begins with clear vision! Children may not realize they have vision problems. Annual eye exams can detect:
🔍 Nearsightedness
🔍 Amblyopia (lazy eye)
🔍 Eye movement issues
🔍 Color blindness

Book a back-to-school eye checkup—it could make all the difference!

Parang mapuwing ba ang Mata? Dry Eyes i gotchu!

Q: Why do my eyes feel dry when I stay in air-conditioned rooms?

A: Air conditioners lower indoor humidity, which can accelerate tear evaporation, leading to dry, irritated eyes. Combat this by using a humidifier, staying hydrated, and applying lubricating eye drops. Take regular breaks from screen time to reduce eye strain as well.

Eye care this summer! 👍

Q: Can swimming pools cause eye infections?

A: Yes. Chlorine and other chemicals used to disinfect pools can disrupt your eye’s protective tear film, increasing your risk of irritation and infection. Avoid swimming with contact lenses, wear swim goggles, and rinse your eyes with clean water or artificial tears after swimming.
