To anyone and everyone that has been a victim of cyberbullying:

We are sorry. We are sorry that you had to go through such an ordeal. We cannot imagine what you might be going through right know, but we know that it is surely very tough. Please know that whatever you are going through, you definitely do not deserve it. No one does. You are 😍, you are wonderful🥰, you are special🤗 and capable of so many things. Whatever they may say about you, all the hurtful things and insults, know that those do not define you🙅. Also know that you are not alone, and that you'll never walk alone. There are people around you who truly care and are willing to help you. We wish you all the best in finding those people. 🤍

We wish you to have the courage and strength 💪 to make it out of the shadows🌟. And last but not least, never lose hope! ☺️😎

Unfortunately, these are only but the tamest of things one may hear when playing multiplayer with particularly aggressive players.

Others go as far as:
"Get good, noob", "Please go k**", using racial slurs, comments about one's sexuality and even comments about one's mother. The online gaming community has been a fast and constant breeding ground for hate and toxicity. These comments are totally unacceptable‼️ no matter how frustrated one can get.

The online gaming community is also infamous for being brutal and cruel to new players. While it may just be words, we all know how powerful and painful words can be. No doubt, they sting and cause real damage to people's mindsets.

This must be put to an end. 🛑✋

The first step to this is becoming more aware and knowledgeable of the issue. So that we may grow more attentive for possible victims and bullies.

📱 Cyberbullying is mostly associated with the younger generation, and is rarely linked to adults. 🧑🏾‍💻👩🏻‍💻👨🏼‍💻 Today, we, Anino would like to recognize the issue of CYBERBULLYING OF ADULTS‼️

Yes, the internet and social media are dominated by the youth, but that doesn't 🙅‍♀️ negate the fact that there are still MILLIONS of adults that use it. And of those millions, thousands of adults are plagued with the shadow of cyberbullying. While this issue for adults may not be as prevalent as those of teens, we should not dismiss and belittle that their mental health suffers the same severe and horrible effects🧠

Generally speaking, the online world is dominated by teens, kids and adolescents 👧🏼🧒🏽👦🏾

But did you ANI-kNOw⁉️

With the beginning of the lockdown for COVID in 2020 came a 70% rise 📈 in cyberbullying among teens and children, according to data gathered by L1ght, a company using AI to detect and track toxicity online.

The youth is one of the groups that are most commonly targeted by online bullies. Its effects on kids and teenagers may vary in severity, but it has the potential to damage their lives at a young age🤕 We should learn more on these emotional, mental, and behavioral effects so that we can help these young victims. ✊

Our mission✊ is to spread awareness on cyberbullying and educate, or "enlighten" people on information regarding the issue of cyberbullying🧐. We aim to promote the use of this information to prevent cyberbullying and aid victims, as well as making the Internet a safer, brighter place. 😇

Our vision is a world in which cyberbullying can be easily prevented from happening. We envision a place where the shadows of the Internet are removed, where toxicity is undone🙅, and where social media can be a mostly, if not entirely, safe space 🤍for everyone who uses these platforms. 💻📱
