'God is in Control'

Genesis 11:4-9
"Then the people said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.”

And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of man had built.

And the Lord said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.

Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another’s speech.”

So the Lord dispersed them from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city.

Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth. And from there the Lord dispersed them over the face of all the earth."

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, forgive us of our pride and self-centeredness, always seeking to exalt ourselves through our own human efforts. Help us to submit to Your sovereign will.

'What a Faithful God Have I'

Genesis 9:12-15
"And God said, This is the sign of the covenant that I make between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations:

I have set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.

When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, I will remember My covenant that is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh."

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the rainbow that represents Your promise that there will not be another universal flood to destroy all flesh. Teach us to trust You and be obedient to Your word.

'Great is Thy Faithfulness'

Genesis 8:15-19
"Then God said to Noah, “Go out from the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you.

Bring out with you every living thing that is with you of all flesh—birds and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth—that they may swarm on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.”

So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him.

Every beast, every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out by families from the ark."

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for preserving Noah and his family and the creatures inside the ark, so they can repopulate the earth. Thank You for Your faithfulness to Your promises. Help us to also be faithful to You.

'Noah's Ark Song'

Genesis 6:17-19
"For behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven. Everything that is on the earth shall die.

But I will establish My covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.

And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ark to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female."

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You are indeed our Almighty God, the Holy Judge, who punishes evil. Thank You for your love and mercy in preserving a remnant for the future.

'I Repent'

Genesis 6:5-9
"The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

And the Lord regretted that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him to His heart.

So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.”

But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God."

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your patience in dealing with men's evilness and sinful nature. Convict us of our sins, that we may truly repent and confess them all to You.

I Repent oh Lord.

'Change My Heart Oh God'

Genesis 4:3-8
"In the course of time Cain brought to the Lord an offering of the fruit of the ground, and Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat portions.

And the Lord had regard for Abel and his offering, but for Cain and his offering He had no regard. So Cain was very angry, and his face fell.

The Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is contrary to you, but you must rule over it.”

Cain spoke to Abel his brother. And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and killed him."

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, teach us to give our offering to You with a clean heart. Help us to avoid envy, jealousy and pride in our dealings with other people.

'Find Us Faithful'

Genesis 3:17-19
"And to Adam, God said, “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you; in pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life;

thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you; and you shall eat the plants of the field.

By the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You have cursed the ground as a consequence of Adam's sin, thus we have to work hard to survive. Thank You for reminding us that we are but dust and to dust our physical bodies shall return when we die.

'Victory in Jesus'

Genesis 3:14-16
"The Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, cursed are you above all livestock and above all beasts of the field; on your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life.

I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”

To the woman He said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you.”

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You are holy and just and does not tolerate sin, that is why there are consequences for our disobedience. But Lord, You are so gracious that You also provided the solution for our salvation - Christ victory over death and sin.

'Loving and Forgiving'

Genesis 3:9-13
"But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”

And he said, “I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.”

He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?”

The man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.”

Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this that you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love, mercy and grace, in forgiving us our sins and restoring our relationship with You. Help us to always abide in Your word, so that we will not go astray.

'Oh I Want to Know You More'

Genesis 3:2-6
"And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden,

but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’”

But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate."

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help us to be careful in understanding Your teachings and give us wisdom so that we will not be easily deceived by the devil. Help us control our fleshly desires thru the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

'A Christian Home'

Genesis 2:21-24
"So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh.

And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man He made into a woman and brought her to the man.

Then the man said, “This at last is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for creating both man and woman, and instituting the concept of marriage and family. Help us to maintain Your original blueprint for the family.

'Breathe on Me, Breath of God'

Genesis 2:7-9
"Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.

And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there He put the man whom He had formed.

And out of the ground the Lord God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil."

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the special way You have created mankind, giving man the breath of life and putting man in the beautiful garden of Eden, providing all that is needed. Teach us to be grateful always for Your love and care.
