Difference between RT-PCR test, Rapid antigen test and antibody test

RT-PCR test
Detects the presence of viral RNA. It is very accurate and efficient. This test is able to detect a COVID-19 infection even before the person becomes infectious and will allow early isolation. Thus, this method is able to prevent the transmission of the virus to other hosts.

The disadvantages are the financial cost compared to the antigen tests, the longer evaluation time, and the need for highly professional staff for sample handling.

Rapid Antigen test
Detects viral proteins. The rapid antigen test reveals patients at the peak of the infection when the body has the highest concentration of these proteins.

The disadvantage is that they are not as sensitive (accurate) as the standard RT-PCR tests used to accurately identify those infected. When using them, a significant percentage of those infected pass the test as a false negative. In a few days, these people will spread the virus among others, thinking they are healthy.

Their advantage is the price, the result within 30 minutes and lower demands on the expertise of the staff.

If you are being tested with the Rapid Antigen test, you are NOT guaranteed to be uninfected at the time of taking the test.

Antibody test
This test measures antibodies to the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the bodies of people who have already had COVID-19 or are successfully recovering from the disease. Antibodies are not present at the onset of the disease.

Alam ba ninyo na mayroong mga pagkaing makatutulong sa pagpapapayat? Oo, heto ang pagkain na dapat nating piliin, pero huwag din sosobra ang kakainin.
1. Gulay at ensalada (salad).
Ayon sa isang pagsusuri na ipinalabas sa Journal of the American Dietetic Association, ang mga taong kumain ng ensalada ay may mas mataas na lebel ng anti-oxidants sa kanilang katawan. Mataas sa fiber ang gulay, kaya ito nakabubusog sa kaunting calories lamang. S**a lang ang gamiting sawsawan at huwag na ang mayonnaise sauce o Thousand Island dressing.
2. Suha at grapefruit.
Ayon sa mga dalubhasa ng Louisiana State University, ang pagkain ng grapefruit 3 beses sa maghapon ay nakapapayat ng 4 pounds sa loob ng 3 buwan. Ang suha natin ay kapamilya ng grapefruit sa America. Ayon sa mga researchers, ang acid ng grapefruit ang tumutulong sa pagpapabagal ng digestion, kaya tayo ay mas nabubusog.
3. Mansanas.
May kasabihan na “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” Ayon sa scientists ng Penn State, ang mga taong kumakain muna ng isang mansanas bago mag-tanghalian ay nakakabawas ng 187 calories sa kanilang makakain. Mabilis makabusog ang mansanas dahil ito ay may pectin, isang klase ng fiber na nakabababa ng cholesterol at asukal sa dugo. Tandaan: Para hindi maparami ang iyong kakainin, mag-mansanas o mag-suha muna.
4. Peras o pears.
Napag-alaman sa isang pag-aaral sa Brazil na ang mga taong kumakain ng 3 peras o mansanas bawat araw ay mas mababa ang timbang kumpara sa hindi kumakain nito. Sa katunayan, ayon sa U.S. Food and Drug Association, mas maraming fiber ang peras kumpara sa mansanas, kaya mas busog ka dito.
5. Itlog.
Ang itlog ay masustansya at magandang kainin sa almusal. Sinabi ng Journal of the American College of Nutrition na ang mga taong kumakain ng itlog sa almusal ay mas nabubusog. Kahit alam nating may kolesterol ang p**a ng itlog, puwede pa rin kumain ng isang itlog sa maghapon. Iyan ang payo ng American Heart Association.
6. Saging.
Sa Japan, nauso ang “Banana-diet” kung saan maraming tao ang pumayat sa pagsunod nito. Sa katunayan, may isang Pilipinong exercise instructor ang pumayat ng 50 pounds sa pagkain lamang ng saging. Maraming benepisyo ang saging. May sangkap ito na makatutulong sa taong may ulcer (dahil sa flavonoids), nag-e-ehersisyo (dahil sa potassium) at nalulungkot (dahil sa tryptophan). Ugaliing kamain ng 1 o 2 saging bawat araw. Ito ang gawin ninyong meryenda.
