❤️ PHC joins the Lab for All Medical Mission in San Juan City! ❤️

Today, August 26, the Philippine Heart Center proudly took part in the Lab for All medical mission held in San Juan City. Our doctors, nurses, and staff were on hand to provide free medical consultations, heart health screenings, and counseling to the community.

This initiative is part of our continuing commitment to bring quality healthcare closer to every Filipino, especially in promoting cardiovascular health through early detection, timely treatment, and preventive care.

We are honored to be a partner of the Lab for All program and we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the local government of San Juan City for making this event possible. Together, we continue to advance the mission of a healthier, heart-strong Philippines. ❤️

PHC and CVMC Concludes Surgical Mission

The Philippine Heart Center and the Cagayan Valley Medical Center has finally concluded their first, hopefully of many, cardiovascular surgical mission in the Cagayan Valley Region. With a final total of eight pediatric patients and two adult patients who went through open heart surgeries without much complication, the mission has become a resounding success.

The surgical mission had its closing program with the attendance of DOH Undersecretary Dr. Glenn Matthew G. Baggao, FDA's Director General Atty. Paolo S. Teston, the PHC team lead by Pediatric Intensivist Section Head Dr. Ma. Bernadette Azcueta and Management Services Department's Manager Victor S. Quiñones, Jr., MHM, and the CVMC team lead by Medical Center Chief Dr. Cherry Lou Antonio.

Along with numerous words of gratitude from all parties involved, Mr. Quiñones also mentioned that, "We all know that firsts are never easy, we faced the challenge of bringing together different teams. Yet, despite these difficulties, what stood out was the spirit of teamwork and our willingness to find solutions together. And perhaps this is the true value of this mission - not only the surgeries performed, but the proof that collaboration can overcome obstacles."

The entirety of the mission was capped off with a fellowship night hosted by the Cagayan Valley Medical Center wherein everyone in attendance bonded through meals, merriment, and music, signalling the perfect start of the partnership that is brewing between the two Hospitals.

PHC and CVMC Starts Surgical Mission

The Philippine Heart Center and the Cagayan Valley Medical Center has begun their first-ever surgical mission at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center in Tuguegarao City. In attendance were the PHC surgical team headed by its Executive Director Dr. Avenilo L. Aventura, Jr., CMVC medical and administrative team lead by its Medical Center Chief Dr. Cherry Lou M. Antonio, and DOH Undersecretary Dr. Glenn Matthew G. Baggao.

For this mission, eight pediatric patients and one adult patient are in line for open heart surgeries, and the team, with their experience and expertise, is positive that all the patients will be able to recover from their respective conditions.

And with the start of this partnership, Dr. Ma. Christy T. Babaran, CVMC Cardiovascular Section Head, is expressive of an optimistically strong tie-up between the two Hospitals and that "We look forward to sustaining this partnership with PHC, and hopefully we can improve the outcome of our patients with cardiovascular diseases." to which PHC's Dr. Aventura assured that the PHC team will always be in assistance to whichever CVMC requires in order to be the regional heart center that the Cagayan Valley Region needs.

PHC's Dr. Rubiano and Ms. Garay Takes Center Stage for Mr. and Ms. Health 2025

The Philippine Heart Center family congratulates Dr. Kristian Lawrence Rubiano (2nd Runner-up, Mr. Congeniality) and Ms. Anne Leonelle Garay (Top 10 Finalist) for representing the Hospital by demonstrating beauty and brains in the recently concluded DOH National Hospital Week's Mr. and Ms. Health 2025!

Your grace, confidence, and readiness to take on this challenge to stand in front of thousands of people both physically and online is a testament on how we, the PHC and the healthcare community, face whatever experiences and opportunities come our way.

PHC Bags Championship Trophy Alongside LCP and RITM

Groups of DOH Hospital employees gathered and participated in the DOH National Hospital Week's Hospital Olympics yesterday, August 7, 2025 held at the Marikina Sports Center.

In a friendly battle of quick-thinking and agility through various games and sports, the Pangkat Luntian - composed of employees from the Philippine Heart Center, Lung Center of the Philippines, and the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine - emerged as the winner for this year’s olympics, with a total score of 490 points.

This annual activity is held not only to promote active lifestyle and fitness to the DOH hospital employees, but also to strengthen camaraderie and connection between the Hospitals. The National Hospital Week celebration for this year is hosted by the National Children's Hospital, co-hosted by Tondo Medical Center.
