I am deeply touched and grateful today. My heartfelt thanks to our Mission Station Priest, Fr. Joey, who remembered us in celebration of World Teachers' Day. Chocolates to sweeten the journey, and a pen to continue the mission of teaching with faith and purpose. Indeed, God uses people to remind us that our efforts are seen and appreciated. Sa Likod ng Pisara

Sa bawat umagang tila hindi pa ganap ang liwanag,
May g**ong gumigising kahit antok pa.
Kape sa isang kamay, lesson plan sa kabila,
Handa na ulit sa laban na walang medalya.

Hawak ang chalk na parang sandata,
Sa pisarang paulit-ulit niyang nililinis.
Pagod na makikita sa kaniyang mga mata,
Boses na paos,
Ngunit kailangang maging malinaw,
Dahil bawat salitang bitawan niya
Ay binhi ng pangarap ng isang batang umaasa.

Sa bawat "Ma’am, may test po ba tayo?",
May tanong ding "Kumain na kaya ako?".
Pero hindi niya iyon inuuna.
Dahil sa gitna ng init at ingay,
Ang tanging nais niya ay
matuto ang mga bata.

At kapag uwian na,
Akala mo tapos na.
Ngunit sa bag niyang luma,
May mga papel na kailangang itama,
Mga planong kailangang tapusin,
Mga pangarap ng bata na kailangang alagaan.

Sa hapag, habang kumakain ng malamig na kanin,
Isip niya’y nasa silid-aralan pa rin.
At habang ang iba’y mahimbing na sa tulog,
Siya ay nakatingin sa kisame,
Nagdarasal ng lakas para sa isa pang bagong umagang darating.

At bukas, gigising siyang muli.
Mag-aayos ng buhok,
Magpapanggap na masigla,
Ngingiti sa bawat “Good morning, Ma’am!”
Kahit sa likod ng ngiti
May pagod, may sakit, may sakripisyong walang nakakaalam.

Ngunit hindi siya titigil,
Dahil alam niyang sa bawat batang natuto,
May isang mundong nagbago.
