On the Multi-sectoral Approach to Eliminate Tuberculosis

TB continues to be a public health threat. We still need to do much more to achieve a TB-free Philippines. Most of our TB cases remain undiagnosed and untreated. This results in more infections, suffering, and death.

As our country transitions to a post COVID-19 pandemic era, we need to put TB front and center in our agenda. TB control and elimination should be prioritized by all stakeholders through a multi-sectoral approach.

We can stop further spread of TB by ensuring that all TB patients have access to quality-assured rapid diagnostic tests, effective anti-TB drugs, and a supportive environment of healthcare workers and communities. All of these are offered free by our local health centers. Lahat ng services ng DOH ay maaaring ma- access ninuman.

Furthermore, PhilCAT encourages physicians from private institutions to actively participate in promoting the programs of the government against TB.
