Hearts That Hold, held in June 2025, was a week-long celebration honoring those who guide others through life’s hardest moments.

In one of the Hearts That Hold breakout workshops, participants explored creative expression as a way to process grief, with our workshop mentor Isa Garcia. Through art and reflection, they gave form to emotions often held in silence. It became a space for release, where those who serve behind the scenes could finally be seen.

June 2025 marked Hearts That Hold, a week dedicated to uplifting and acknowledging the work of end-of-life care professionals.

Our event on June 20 was about care of a different kind. For one day, our hardworking staff stepped away from their duties and into a space of rest. With free haircuts, manicures, pedicures, and massages, our Wellness Day offered more than simple indulgences; it brought peace and reminded us that those who care for others deserve care, too.

In June 2025, our Hearts That Hold event brought together a week of recognition for the dedication of end-of-life care professionals.

On June 19, we opened the doors of our crematory chapel not for a service, but for a shared moment of rest. Funeral directors and practitioners from neighboring homes joined us for our Hearts That Hold movie night: a chance to pause, laugh, and connect beyond the roles we carry. In a profession that holds so much weight, community moments like these matter.

Held in June 2025, Hearts That Hold was a week-long tribute to end-of-life care professionals.

As one of the events, Arlington Memorial Chapels visited six of our partner hospitals - including UERM, St. Luke’s, Cardinal Santos, and the National Children’s Hospital - to share simple tokens of gratitude with the ER, ICU, and morgue staff. These quiet frontliners face loss every day, often without pause or recognition. Our visit was a small gesture to let them know: we see you, and we thank you.

At Arlington Memorial Chapels, we believe that end-of-life professionals—whether funeral staff, caregivers, or hospital personnel—deserve to be seen, supported, and celebrated. This belief gave rise to a deeply personal and pioneering initiative we called Hearts That Hold.

Held in June 2025, Hearts That Hold was a week-long series of events dedicated to honoring those who hold space for others in their most painful moments. It culminated on June 21, the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, which we now propose to mark annually as National End-of-Life Care Professionals Day.
