Candlelight Memorial 2025 Statement
Today, as we gather in reflection and unity for the 2025 International Candlelight Memorial, we honor the lives lost to HIV and AIDS, stand in solidarity with those living with the virus, and reaffirm our commitment to a future free of stigma, discrimination, and inequality.
Each flame we light tonight carries the memory of a loved oneโof friends, family, and communities who faced this epidemic with courage, dignity, and resilience. Their stories continue to inspire us, their voices echo in our advocacy, and their spirits guide our work.
This year's theme, [insert actual theme if availableโe.g., โTogether in Hopeโ], reminds us that progress is only possible through compassion, science, and collective action. We have come far, but the journey is not over. Too many are still left behind, too many still face injustice, and too many are still at risk.
Let us use this moment not only to mourn but to mobilize. To light a candle is to declare that we remember, and that we will continue the fightโfor access to treatment, for prevention, for human rights, and for a world where every life is valued.
Together, in remembrance and in resolve, we keep the light burning.
