Care 🫀
Sometimes it’s nice to be guided, to be held, to let someone else create the container.

A pirtininkė is someone who tends to the sauna, who prepares the space and weaves the experience for others.

When we step into the pirtis, we cross a threshold between heat and cold, body and spirit, seen and unseen.

Somewhere in that in-between, something softens. Something connects. Something remembers.

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on the quiet, sacred ways love shows up in my life.

Garwyn…my adventure companion, fire-water twin, and home in human form.

The way he prepares the most beautiful sacred fires, letting the flames rest into a soft heart shape. How he cooks nourishing meals after long days, grounding me back into my body. How we sit together in silent meditations, listening to the soft hum of life, side by side. How we prepare herbal medicines together, trusting in the plants to guide us.

He plays the cello and it feels like home…deep, raw beauty in its purest form. His smile, his tenderness, his wild heart ❤️ it all reminds me how much love is an everyday practice of tending, listening and creating together. 🌀

Grateful for the fires, the forests, the medicines, the music, the silence and this wild, unfolding path we get to walk side by side. ♾️

As the days cool and the light shifts, sauna becomes a way to keep our inner fire strong

This season we’re gathering in East London, Sussex, and at Sweheat… weaving warmth, steam, plants, and old traditions into ritual. From riverside taster sessions to full-day retreats and intimate evening saunas, there are many ways to step in.

Camp Bestival 🌱
7 sauna rituals across 2 full days held within the rhythms of Sauna. What a beautiful gathering.

Alongside dear and we moved in flow…

Endless thanks to and and the whole Slomo crew for keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Whisks were made, stories were shared, and the magic of sauna rippled out into the fields.

Last night’s ritual at .sauna left my heart full.

One of the main callings that brought me to pirtis was the longing to reconnect with my roots. To feel that thread back to Lithuania, not just through tradition, but through language, through presence.

So when Lithuanians join my sessions, when I get to speak the mother tongue with other pirtis lovers, it’s not just special, it’s deeply grounding. It reminds me why I do this.

It was such a joy to welcome fellow sauna masters, to share space, stories, laughter and to keep growing in this beautiful circle of sauna folk.

A big thank you to Victoria for holding this space with so much heart. Sweheat really is a gem in London.

I’ve been spending time with Angelica Archangelica.

Not to use them. But to work with them.
To feel into their presence.
To listen to what arises in my body.

So often we learn about plants through their compounds, actions, contraindications…
but we haven’t truly met them.

We haven’t slowed down to ask:
How do they feel in my body?
What do they stir in my being, is there resistance?

That’s the part I’m learning to honour.

It reminds me that plants aren’t tools.
They’re mirrors.
They meet us where we are.

This is the approach I bring to my sauna rituals.
We don’t work on the body.
We work with the person, with the steam, with the plant.

Something shifts when we stop trying to extract… and begin to listen.

Postcard from Cornwall 🐝
This bumblebee wouldn’t leave my side for hours…from pavement to palm, through walks and car rides, all the way back to the lodge. She nestled into my skin like it was home. The most gentle, lovely being. A quiet companion, a soft kind of magic.

Still thinking about her.

Mugwort under the full moon 🌕
Our first hydrosol together. The beginning of many quiet medicine-makings at home.

Yesterday Garwyn and I distilled mugwort, guided by what he shared from his immersion, and Nathaniel Hughes’ way of working slowly, reverently, with the plant. It was a moment to listen, to be in relationship, to pour our love and care with each step of the process.

I’ve been reflecting a lot since returning from my Angelica Archangelica dieta…
How much to share.
What’s mine to hold closer.
What’s ready to be seen.

Birch House will always be a space for sharing—but I’m learning that not everything needs to be spoken aloud. Some things are just for the fire, the steam, the roots beneath.

More to come. Quietly, gently.
