As Pride Month draws to a close, we are reminded that while visibility and celebration matter, so does the ongoing work of creating safer spaces for LGBTQ+ youth.

The Trevor Project's 2024 study on LGBTQ+ young people in the Philippines revealed that 1 in 3 seriously considered su***de in the past year, and nearly half reported symptoms of depression. Many face daily challenges like discrimination, bullying, and lack of access to affirming mental health care.

Pride is not just about celebration. It's also a call to action. These young people deserve more than tolerance. They deserve safety, love, and a future.

Let's carry that commitment beyond the month of June.

The 2024 Philippines National Survey on the Mental Health of LGBTQ+ Young People is the first country-wide survey to focus on LGBTQ+ young people and individual and socioeconomic factors that influence their mental health.

Today, we’re highlighting some of the autism assessment tools we distribute. Our commitment is to improve accessibility and expand the availability of these crucial resources to the Filipino community. By doing so, we aim to empower professionals with a diverse range of tools, ensuring they can deliver effective and meaningful evaluations. We hope to continue bringing more autism assessment tools to the Philippines, helping bridge gaps and support the needs of the community.

Today, we shine the spotlight at Autism Society PH (ASP), an organization we deeply value and support.

ASP has commenced its Angels Walk 2025. This year, the walks are being held across 10 ASP Chapters, culminating in a grand finale at the SM MOA Arena in Pasay on May 18, 2025.

While walks have already taken place in Malaybalay (April 4), SM City Lipa (April 5), SM City Lucena (April 6), SM City Tuguegarao and SM City Iloilo (April 12), and SM City Davao (April 13), there are still opportunities to participate at the following dates and venues:

• April 20 - SM Butuan
• April 23 - SM Baguio
• April 23 - SM City Bacolod
• April 27 - SM Seaside Cebu

This was done by Sesame Street to promote autism awareness, understanding, and acceptance, both for autistic children and their families, and for all viewers of Sesame Street.
