This week on Wellness Wednesdays, we slow down and look inward as we explore how spirituality—beyond religion—can ground us, especially during stressful seasons like finals and life’s many transitions.

In partnership with the Ateneo Bulatao Center for Psychological Services and the Ateneo Psyche, we're joined by our guest, Jofel D. Umandap, RPsy, Clinical Psychology PhD candidate and Marriage & Family Therapy specialist.

Together, we dive into how grounding practices help us cope, the role of purpose, values, and connection, how spirituality shows up in therapy, and the realistic grounding routines students can use today.

About Ateneo Psyche

With its members coming from various disciplines, Ateneo Psyche is the premier psychology organization of Ateneo de Manila University. It is founded on the collective purpose of communicating psychological knowledge, advocating for mental health, and developing a community that places primary concern on the well-being of the human psyche.

In sharing relevant information about psychology, Ateneo Psyche hopes to give insight into the value of such knowledge, specifically in its application for the benefit of society. Its advocacy of mental health aims to prevent stigma from interfering with mental health care by clarifying the reality of mental disorders, especially in the national context.

In a community where people come first, members of the organization are encouraged to contribute to the development of psychology, of the self, and of the Filipino nation. Projects and other efforts of Ateneo Psyche include seminar-workshops by professionals of psychology, visits to the National Center for Mental Health, publications for Psyche Today, and promotions for Mental Health Awareness Week among many more initiatives.

Ateneo Psyche. Where people come first.
