October 23-27, 2023| Basic Life Support (BLS) Providers Course at Ciudad Christia, San Mateo Rizal

Based on Administrative Order No. 155 s 2004, the Basic Life Support Training is mandatory to all healthcare workers. In line with this, the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in Health (RDRRMH), together with partners from Philippine Coast Guard, successfully conducted the Basic Life Support training with the emphasis on how to use an actual Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for CHD4A RESU Personnel.

BAGONG PILIPINAS SERBISYO FAIR IN LAGUNA | November 4, 2023

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) manifests full support to the DOH CALABARZON's patient navigation and referral program.

On November 4, 2023, during the 5th Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair held at the Laguna Sports Complex, Sta Cruz, Laguna, DICT Regional Director Cheryl Ortega turned over ICT equipment to DOH CALABARZON represented by Dr Voltaire S. Guadalupe and Maria Theresa R. Escolano.

The DOH CALABARZON maintains a 24/7 office providing patient navigation and referral services and data on coordination of patients, transport, telemedicine and other health-related services, to include medical and financial assistance thru the Medical Assistance to Indigent Patients Program.

The RDRRMH staff also assisted in the mobile blood donation activity as phlebotomists during the fair.

The RDRRM-H continuously aims to institutionalize the DRRM-H systems of Local Government units, as well as Hospitals. For a hospital to be institutionalized in DRRM-H, it must have an approved, signed, updated, funded, and disseminated DRRM-H plan; organized and trained health emergency response teams (HERTs), available and accessible health emergency commodities, and functional emergency operation center.

The DRRM consultant for health care waste management also discussed on hospital waste management.

CALABARZON Provincial Health Officers, Medical Center Chiefs, Provincial Navigators and CHD CALABARZON officials gathered on September 26, 2023 to validate protocols, and provide strategies for the effective implementation of the Regional Patient Navigation Referral System, an important component of the Universal Health Care.

CHD CALABARZON participated in a dialogue with Calamba City private hospitals, the Calamba Private Midwives Association, USAID-RTI Reachhealth, the Calamba City Council, and the Philhealth, initiated by the Calamba City Health Office (CHO) on 08 September 2023 at the Calamba Medical Center (CMC).

Mr Erickson Manuel Pawig presented the guidelines on the service delivery design of Health Care Provider Networks (HCPNs) while Maria Theresa R Escolano shared the patient navigation and referral processes. Steering the dialogue was Dr Dale Atayan of Calamba CHO- Technical Services Division Head.

CMC President and CEO Dr Jose O Juliano, St John the Baptist Medical Center CEO Dr Jose Enrico G Juliano and representative from the Calamba Doctors Hospital actively participated in the dialogue. A Technical Working Group was created to follow through on the public-private health care partnership.

The Universal Health Care Act provides the formation of HCPNs to ensure integration and effective and efficient delivery of population-based and individual based health services.
