NSC-NIH joins the global community in celebrating International Thalassaemia Day!

In the Philippines, many remain unaware that they carry the Thalassaemia gene or live without a proper diagnosis until complications arise.

Today, we turn the spotlight on every "unseen" individual. Let’s bridge the gap in diagnosis and care so that no Filipino living with thalassaemia is left behind.

ATTENTION: Check Your Newborn Screening (NBS) Filter Cards! 🩸

Heads up Partners!

Do a quick inventory sweep. We have a batch of NBS filter cards approaching their expiry.

What you need to do:
✅CHECK YOUR STOCKS: Look at the expiry date on the absorbent part of your current NBS cards.

FIFO (First-In, First-Out): Move all cards expiring 31 May 2026 to the front of your inventory. If you have newer stock (ending in 2027 or later), keep them at the back. Use the May 2026 cards first!

‼️Bawal gamitin ang Out-dated Cards (ODC). Expired cards can affect blood absorption, leading to invalid results and unnecessary re-testing for newborns.

Check your kits today, okay? 👌
