🌱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀! 💚
The Capacity Building Training for Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) Staff deepened participants’ understanding of the vital link between mental health, psychosocial well-being, and child protection.

Held on 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, at the SB Hall, Quezon City General Hospital, this one-day learning event empowered 142 BCPC representatives to respond with compassion, competence, and care to children facing abuse, neglect, or trauma — while also highlighting the importance of self-care and resilience among responders.

This meaningful activity was made possible through the expertise of QC Protection Center’s Ms. Marie Louise Lipnica, RPm, and Ms. Joceline Basconcillo, RSW, together with esteemed guest speakers Ms. Maricon Conde, RPm, Psychometrician from the National Center for Mental Health, and Ms. Jhoanne Mae C. Toriaga, RPsy, Ph.D. (cand.), Chair of the Psychology Programs at Mapúa University, and was successfully led and guided by Ms. Janete R. Oviedo, MPA, Officer-in-Charge of the QC Protection Center.

Participants deepened their understanding of the interrelatedness of mental health and psychosocial issues among children, identified the effects of abuse and disasters on children’s well-being and development, strengthened their capacity in providing appropriate responses and referrals, and promoted self-care practices for resilience and sustainable service delivery among BCPC workers.

On 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, the Quezon City Protection Center (QCPC) and Bahay Kanlungan warmly welcomed delegates from the Provincial GAD Office of Quezon Province. 🌸🤝

The visit aimed to learn from Quezon City’s best practices in providing comprehensive interventions for victim-survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), combatting GBV, and advancing gender and development (GAD) initiatives through the efforts of the QC GAD Council Office. Delegates also explored the city’s centralized databank system, a pioneering tool in strengthening case management and response. 📊✨

To cap the visit, the delegates had a guided tour of the QCPC and Bahay Kanlungan facilities—gaining firsthand insight into the programs, amenities, and services that could inspire possible replication in Quezon Province to ensure quality care and protection for GBV victim-survivors in their communities. 🏠💜

Last 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, the Quezon City Protection Center (QCPC) and Bahay Kanlungan welcomed foreign delegates from the Peace in Our Cities (PiOC) Network, in partnership with Bayi, Inc., with the assistance of the QC GAD Council Office. 🌍🤝

The visit highlighted Quezon City’s best practices in advancing gender-responsive governance and peacebuilding, showcasing the city’s comprehensive programs and services for victim-survivors of gender-based violence. 💜

Congratulations, Quezon City!

Napatunayan nating muli na mayroong ligtas at mapagkalingang espasyo ang sektor ng kababaihan at kabataan sa ating lungsod.

Nagkamit ang Quezon City Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children ng overall score na 110% o katumbas ng rating na "Highly Functional" mula sa Regional Inter-Agency Monitoring Team (RIMT).

Bunsod ito ng isinagawang Local Committees on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) Functionality Assessment para sa taong 2024.

Iginawad ang mataas na marka sa Quezon City bilang pagkilala sa iba-ibang programa na nagbibigay halaga at proteksyon sa bawat kababaihan at kabataan sa lungsod.

Asahan po ninyo na patuloy na itataguyod ng Quezon City Government ang aktibong pagpapanatili ng isang ligtas at mapayapang komunidad para sa mga QCitizen.

Nagsagawa ng Benchmarking Activity ang Child’s Rights Protection Unit – Cebu Cluster ng Children’s Legal Bureau Inc.!

Delegates composed of barangay employees, barangay councilors, barangay captains, and GAD focal persons visited the QC Protection Center, QC Human Milk Bank, and Bahay Kanlungan upang matutunan ang mga best practices sa child protection at gender-responsive services.

Nagbahagi rin si Ms. Janete R. Oviedo, Head of the QC Gender and Development Council Office, ng mga best practices ng GAD Council Office at QC Protection Center pagdating sa child protection at GAD initiatives sa Quezon City.
