The training brought together key participants, including police investigators from the District/Station Women and Children Concern Section of 16 police stations, medical and allied healthcare professionals from the Quezon City General Hospital and Medical Center, social workers from the Social Services Development Department, and multidisciplinary teams from the QC Protection Center and Bahay Kanlungan.
The event aimed to enhance the participants' skills in recognizing abuse, conducting gender-sensitive history-taking and examinations, and crafting multidisciplinary management plans. It also focused on performing gender-sensitive assessments, evaluating safety and risks, creating detailed case reports, conducting sensitive interviews, gathering evidence, and assisting with legal documentation to effectively support survivors.
A roster of esteemed resource speakers shared their expertise throughout the training. ๐ ๐. ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ ๐ฅ๐ผรฑ๐ผ, Advocacy Consultant at the QC GAD Council Office, discussed the fundamentals of gender sensitivity. ๐๐๐๐. ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐น ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ผ-๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ผ๐๐๐ผ๐บ๐ผ, Legal Consultant at the QC GAD Council Office, provided an introduction to Gender-Based Violence (GBV). ๐๐ฟ. ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐ฅ๐๐๐ต ๐๐น๐ฒ๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฒ-๐๐ต๐๐ฎ, former president of the POGS Committee on VAW, talked about the 4Rs framework, gender-sensitive medical interviews, examinations, and court testimonies. ๐๐๐๐. ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ผ ๐ฉ๐ฒ๐น๐ฎ๐๐พ๐๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ด๐๐ถ๐น๐ฎ, ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ช, Branch Clerk of Court at the Regional Trial Court Branch 9, Manila City, highlighted the multidisciplinary team approach and facilitated a workshop on crafting social case study reports and intervention planning with the multidisciplinary team. ๐๐๐๐. ๐๐น๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐ฅ๐ถ๐๐ฎ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ฎ, Legal Consultant at the QC Protection Center, addressed legal and ethical considerations, while ๐๐๐๐. ๐ ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐น๐ฒ ๐๐ป๐ป ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐บ๐๐ผ๐ป, ๐ฅ๐ฃ๐บ, former Legal Consultant at the QC Protection Center, guided participants in crafting accurate and court-admissible statements and affidavits. This training emphasized the value of collaboration and unity in delivering holistic care to GBV survivors. By equipping participants with enhanced knowledge and skills, the QC Protection Center continues to strengthen its mission of supporting and advocating for the rights and welfare of survivors.
