A patient came to clinic with a swollen gum on his last lower molar, complaining about the pain specially when biting. This kind of swollen gums called PERICORONITIS.
Pericoronitis is the inflammation of the soft tissues surrounding the crown of a partially erupted tooth, most commonly a lower third molar (wisdom tooth). It often occurs when a flap of gum tissue covers part of the tooth, trapping food particles and bacteria.
