To flatten and lighten keloids, a corticosteroid solution is injected directly into a hypertrophic scar or keloid. Steroids break the bonds between collagen fibers, which reduces the amount of scar tissue beneath the skin.

Results can be seen after at least 3 sessions, interval every 2 weeks.
