The Philippine Academy of Acupuncture, Inc. (PAAI), in partnership with the Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care (PITAHC), supported the East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) Women and Child Protection Unit (WCPU) in the celebration of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) held on November 24, 2025, at the 7th Floor of East Avenue Medical Center.

As part of this advocacy initiative, PAAI provided free acupuncture, ventosa, and tui-na massage services to around 50 employees and organizers of the activity. These services aimed to promote relaxation, wellness, and holistic support to individuals committed to advancing women’s rights and protection.

We are also thankful to all our dedicated practitioners who generously volunteered their time and expertise to help make this event successful. Their commitment to service continues to advance PAAI’s mission of promoting accessible and compassionate traditional and integrative healthcare.

PAAI expresses its appreciation to EAMC-WCPU and PITAHC for the opportunity to contribute to this meaningful campaign and remains committed to supporting initiatives that uplift and empower women and communities.

The Philippine Academy of Acupuncture, Inc. (PAAI), under the guidance of Vice President Dr. Hector Dela Cruz, continues to hold its weekly Acupuncture Basics Review Sessions every Saturday via Zoom for FREE to all practitioners nationwide.

In today’s session, Dr. Hector delivered an in-depth review of the Five-Element Theory in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), discussing each element’s characteristics, symbolism, and clinical significance. The lecture covered the associations of the elements—wood, fire, earth, metal, and water—with corresponding seasons, colors, emotions, organs, and even domestic animals. He emphasized how maintaining balance among these elements supports holistic health and emotional well-being.

Dr. Hector underscored the importance of mastering the Five-Element Theory for accurate TCM diagnosis and treatment. He also announced an upcoming quiz on the history of Chinese medicine and encouraged participants to invite more learners.

In line with PAAI’s mission to make quality acupuncture education accessible, Dr. Hector reiterated his intention to expand FREE training opportunities, especially for communities in the Visayas region.

On Sunday, November 16, 2025, the Philippine Academy of Acupuncture, Inc. (PAAI) took part in the PhilHealth Family Fun Run at the Marikina Sports Complex, upon the invitation of the Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care (PITAHC). PAAI offered free acupuncture consultations, ventosa therapy, and tui-na massage to event participants.

The event was organized by the PhilHealth Regional Office NCR and Rizal, in partnership with the Marikina Local Government Unit. This initiative supports PhilHealth’s advocacy to promote an active lifestyle and preventive healthcare among Filipino families.

PAAI’s participation was instrumental in showcasing evidence-based Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicine (TCIM) practices and in reinforcing PITAHC’s commitment to promoting inclusive and accessible health services for the public.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all our volunteer acupuncturists, headed by Dr. Elizabeth So and Mr. Ferdinand Dayro, for their unwavering dedication and commitment to serving the community.
