Celebrating Neurodiversity This Autism Month
Autism is not a limitationโit is a different way of thinking, feeling, and experiencing the world. Some autistic individuals may have difficulty identifying or expressing their emotions, but this does not mean they feel any less. It simply means they process and express emotions differently.
This Autism Month, we celebrate neurodiversity and create a space where differences are understood, respected, and valuedโfree from stigma.
According to the Autism Society of the Philippines, autism affects 1 in every 100 individuals, which means that approximately 1.2 million Filipinos are living with autism (Autism Society Philippines, 2023). However, one of the major challenges remains the lack of early identification and timely intervention (Gutierrez, 2024).
At C.H.I.L.D. Psychological Center, we support children in growing, expressing themselves, developing skills, and reaching their full potentialโin their own unique way.
