Ang blood chemistry test ay karaniwang ginagawa 1–2 beses bawat taon para sa mga walang iniindang sakit, bilang routine check-up.

Pero depende ito sa iyong kalagayan:

Kung walang sakit
Every 6–12 months para sa general health monitoring

Kung may diabetes, high cholesterol, o high blood pressure
Every 3–6 months, depende sa payo ng doktor

Mas madalas para masundan kung gumagana ang gamot at lifestyle changes

Kung may iniinom na maintenance na gamot
Maaaring every 3–6 months para makita kung may epekto sa kidney, liver, cholesterol, blood sugar, atbp.

Pag may bagong sintomas
Dapat magpa-test kahit hindi pa due, lalo na kung may nangyaring:

Paninikip ng dibdib

Pagbigat ng katawan o pamamaga

Ang HbA1c (Hemoglobin A1c) ay isang uri ng blood test na nagpapakita ng average na blood sugar (glucose) level mo sa loob ng huling 2–3 buwan.

Para saan ito?
Ginagamit upang matukoy kung may diabetes o prediabetes.

Para i-monitor ang kontrol ng blood sugar ng mga taong may diabetes.

Paano ito gumagana?
Kapag maraming sugar sa dugo, kumakapit ito sa hemoglobin sa red blood cells. Sinusukat ng HbA1c kung gaano karami ang “nadikit” na sugar—mas mataas ito, mas mataas ang average blood sugar mo.

Normal na Interpretation (karaniwang range):
Normal: mas mababa sa 5.7%

Prediabetes: 5.7% – 6.4%

Diabetes: 6.5% pataas

Bakit mahalaga?
Dahil hindi ito gaya ng fasting blood sugar na one-time result lang, mas reliable ito para malaman kung matagal nang mataas ang sugar at kung effective ang treatment o lifestyle changes.

1. Complete Blood Count (CBC)
Checks hemoglobin, WBC, RBC, platelets

Used for infection, anemia, etc.
