Ang breast cancer o kanser sa suso ang nangunguna ngayong kanser sa babae sa Pilipinas. Naungusan na nito ang lung cancer. Tinatayang 3 sa bawat 100 pinay ang maaaring magkaroon ng breast cancer at 1 sa bawat 100 Pinay naman ang pwedeng mamatay dahil dito.
Ang Pilipinas ang may pinakamataas na kaso ng breast cancer sa Asya..Ang malungkot, napakababa ng survival rate sa breast cancer dito sa bansa. Kwarenta porsyento o 40% lamang kumpara sa 80 to 98% sa mauunlad na bansa.
Ano ang nangyayari kapag may kanser?
Ang ilang pagbabago sa ating DNA ay nagiging sanhi upang ang ating normal na selyula sa suso ay maging cancerous. Ang DNA ay ang kemikal sa bawat selyula na bumubuo sa ating genes – ang nagbibigay ng direksyon kung paano kikilos ang selyula sa katawan.
Mayroong genes na kumokontrol kung kailan lalaki, maghihiwalay at mamamatay ang ating selyula. Ang ibang genes na napapabilis ang cell division ay tinatawag na oncogenes. Ang iba namang genes na nakakapagpabagal ng cell division o sanhi ng pagkamatay ng selyula ay tinatawag na tumor suppressor genes.
Ang kanser ay maaaring dahilan ng pagbabago sa ating DNA. May kakayahan itong buksan o isara ang oncogenes at tumor suppressor genes.
Halos 5 hanggang 10% lamang ng kanser ang sanhi ng abnormalidad na minana mula sa magulang. Nobenta porsyento o 90% naman ng kanser sa suso ay dahil sa genetic abnormalities na nangyayari resulta ng pagtanda at ang tinatawag na “wear and tear” ng buhay sa pangkalahatan.

• Umiinom ng alak at naninigariyo
• Kulang sa ehersisyo
• Kulang sa Vitamin D
• Mga nagtatrabaho sa gabi dahil sa exposure sa ilaw
• Exposed sa iba’t ibang kemikal mula sa cosmetics, pagkain, plastic, tubig, atbp.

• Bukol na kalimitan ay matigas at di pantay ang hugis
• Pagbabago sa laki at hugis ng suso

Ano ang dapat gawin kung may bukol sa suso?
• Kung ang bukol ay isang suso lang, obserbahan rin ang kabila.
• Kung di mawala pagkatapos ng regla, komunsulta na sa doctor.
• Iwasang maunahan kayo ng takot. Ang maagang pagpapasuri ay isa sa mga sikreto ng tagumpay na gamutan.
Pagsusuri ng Suso
Step 1. Humarap sa salamin at tingnang mabuti ang inyong suso. Idiretso ang mga balikat habang nasa balakang ang mga kamay. Tingnan kung may pagbabago sa sukat, hugis at kulay.
Step 2. Itaas ang mga braso at tingnan muli kung may kakaibang pagbabago.
Step 3. Suriin kung may lumalabas na likido sa utong. Maaari itong tubig, parang gatas, madilaw o may dugo.
Step 4. Humiga at damhin ang inyong kaliwang suso gamit ang kanang kamay at gamitin naman ang kaliwang kamay sa kanang suso.
Step 5. Tumayo o umupo at damhin ulit ang inyong dibdib. Pinakamainan gawin ito sa banyo. Maaaring basain at sabuhin para mas madali ang pagkapa.
Mga Dapat Tandaan sa Pagsusuri ng Suso
• Ugaliing ang pagsusuri isang beses isang buwan ilang araw pagkatapos ng regla.
• Kung hindi na nireregla, pumili ng araw na madaling tandaan, halimbawa una o huling araw ng buwan
• Huwag mataranta kung may nakapang bukol. Karamihan ng babae ay madalas magkaroon nito.
• Suriing mabuti ang paligid ng suso – baba’t taas pati na ang parteng malapit sa kili-kili.
• Gumawa ng journal at ilista lahat ng obserbasyon tuwing magsusuri.
• Pinakaimportante, maging pamilyar sa inyong suso para makita agad ang mga pagbabago

“Ang treatment of breast cancer, initially, is surgical. Now, kung indicated ang chemotherapy, susunod ‘yan, then kung kailangan ang radiation treatment or radio therapy. Kapag nakita ang kanser sa early age, curable pa yan. Breast cancer is like a house on fire. Kapag maliit, pwede pa. Kapag buong bahay na, walang magagawa,” ayon kay Dr. Erwin Alcazaren, Surgical Oncologist sa The Medical City.

10 Senyales ng Sakit sa Puso:

Ang mga sakit sa puso ang nangungunang sanhi ng kamatayan sa Pilipinas, at ang mga kaso nito ay patuloy pang tumataas sa paglipas ng panahon. Ito’y sapagkat walang sintomas at senyales o kung meron man, ay huli na para maagapan pa. Dahil dito, mahalaga na mapagtuunan ng agarang pansin ang kahit na maliit pa lamang na senyales ng pagkakaroon ng sakit sa puso.

Ang mga senyales ng sakit ay naiiba-iba depende sa kondisyon na dinadanas, ngunit ang mga sumusunod na sintomas ay ang mga karaniwan na maaaring maranasan.

1. Pagkabalisa = Sinasabing ang mga may sakit sa puso, lalo na yung may pagbabadya ng atake sa puso, ay maaaring dumanas ng pagkabalisa o anxiety. Dahil ito sa takot sa kamatayan na maaaring maranasan sa kasagsagan ng atake sa puso.

2. Pananakit sa dibdib = Siyempre pa, maaaring dumanas ng pananakit sa dibdib ang taong may sakit sa puso. Sa katunayan, ito ang pangunahing senyales na maaaring maranasan sa pagkakaroon ng anumang karamdaman sa puso. Ang pananakit ay nararamdaman mula sa gitna ng dibdib at gumagapang papunta sa kaliwa ng dibdib.

3. Pagkahilo = Ang pagkahilo ay isa rin sa mga pangunahing senyales ng sakit sa puso. Maaaring ito ay dahil sa kakulangan ng sapat na suplay ng dugo sa ulo na nagaganap dahil sa iregularidad sa paggana ng puso.

4. Madaling pagkapagod = Ang anumang iregularidad sa paggana ng puso ay maaaring magreresulta din sa mabilis na pagkapagod ng katawan, kung kaya, hindi dapat pabayaan ang senyales na ito. Kinakailangan ang agarang pagpapatingin sa doktor kung sakaling mapadalas ang pagkapagod.

5. Pananakit sa iba pang bahagi ng katawan

Makararanas din pananakit sa ibang bahagi ng katawan partikular sa batok, balikat, braso, at panga. Hanggat hindi nareresolbahan ang problema sa puso, ang pananakit ay patuloy na kakalat sa iba pang bahagi ng katawan hanggang sa sumapit ang pag-atake sa puso.

6. Mabilis o iregular na pulso = Ang pabago-bagong ritmo ng tibok ng puso at pulso ay maiuugnay sa pagkakaroon ng karamdaman sa puso lalo na kung kaakibat pa nito ang panghihina ng katawan, pagkahilo, at pananakit sa ilang bahagi ng katawan.

7. Hirap sa paghinga = Ang paghirap ng paghinga, bagaman maaari din itong sintomas ng ibang sakit gaya ng hika o COPD, ay isa ring malinaw na senyales ng pagkakaroon ng sakit sa puso. Hindi ito maaaring balewalain lalo na kung kaakibat nito ang iba pang senyales ng sakit sa puso.

8. Pagpapawis = Karaniwang pinagpapawisan ng malamig ang taong dumadanas ng mga pagbabadiya ng atake sa puso. Kahit pa walang ginagawa at nakaupo lang, kung maramdaman ang mga pananakit at iba pang sintomas ng sakit, tiyak na pagpapawisan.

9. Panghihina ng katawan = Agad na manghihina ang katawan ng tao ilang araw bago o sa mismong panahon ng pag-atake sa puso. Ayon sa mga taong nakaligtas sa atake sa puso, kahit ang paghawak sa papel sa pagitan ng mga daliri ay mahirap gawin sa kasagsagan ng panghihina ng katawan.

10. Kawalan ng gana sa pagkain = Pangkaraniwan din na kondisyon ang biglang pagkawala ng gana sa pagkain sa oras na makaramdam ng ilang mga sintomas ng sakit sa puso.
