Umi Nga Spa & Body Massage is a Filipino-inspired spa specializing in Hilot (Filipino Traditional Massage), Indigenous Remedies and Magnesium Therapy. The first of its kind, it started as a small massage clinic on November 23, 2015 in an apartment in Carmen West, McArthur Highway, Rosales, Pangasinan. Established by a young entrepreneur from Balungao, Pangasinan, the name Umi Nga was derived from the owner’s surname “Uminga” which means “sea of clouds” in Japanese. Being able to experience indigenous rituals and traditional Filipino healing practices since childhood in the province, he became a firm believer of maghihilot, albularyos and various related forms of therapies until now. Before this name became what it is now, it went through a lot of pressures, obstacles and even bankruptcy before it was able to be known and competes with other spas in the area and started being compared to other branded spas in the Philippine industry.
