‘WAG GUMAMIT NG DOXYCYCLINE NANG WALANG RESETA’

The Department of Health warns the public against self-medicating with doxycycline, an antibiotic used to prevent leptospirosis.

Taking it incorrectly can reduce its effectiveness, making infections harder to treat and potentially leading to more serious illness.

The DOH says the need for doxycycline depends on a person’s level of exposure to floodwaters. A doctor’s assessment is required to determine proper dosage and use.
