Every day we struggle, we fight, we educate, we help – but is it enough?

The alarming report from the Manila Bulletin highlights the urgency: the Philippines is now seeing the world’s fastest rise in new HIV cases. This reality compels us to act even more decisively. Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Ted Herbosa has called on President Marcos to declare a national public health emergency over HIV – a call that reflects the gravity of this crisis.

Each day, we strive to close the gaps: we offer testing, treatment, and hope. We confront stigma and stand with the most vulnerable. Still, this surge reminds us that while our daily efforts are essential, they must be part of a united national and global response.

Thank you, Secretary Ted Herbosa, for the call and for recognizing the need to treat this as a public health emergency.
