Roxas City Health Office Conducts Health Awareness Lecture for ALS Students

The Roxas City Health Office recently conducted a series of informative lectures at Congressman Ramon A. Arnaldo High School – Alternative Learning System (ALS), aimed at empowering students with essential health knowledge.

The sessions covered HIV Information Dissemination and Screening, Family Planning, and Adolescent and Responsible Parenthood, providing students with vital insights on sexual and reproductive health. Through these discussions, participants gained a deeper understanding of HIV prevention, the importance of regular screening, and responsible decision-making regarding family planning and parenthood.

HIV Information Dissemination and Screening at BJMP San Jose, Roxas City

The Roxas City Health Office, in partnership with the Capiz Shells Organization Inc. (CSOI) and the THAWS Team, conducted an HIV Information Dissemination and Screening Activity for the newly committed individuals at the BJMP (Bureau of Jail Management and Penology), San Jose, Roxas City.

This initiative aimed to raise awareness about HIV, its prevention, and available treatment options, while also breaking down stigma and ensuring early detection through on-site screening.

Through this collaborative effort, we strive to build a healthier and more informed community, empowering everyone to take proactive steps toward their well-being.

🌟 Event Update: THAWS Roxas at the Consultative and Operational Planning Workshop 🌟

From August 6-9, 2024, THAWS Roxas proudly participated in the Consultative and Operational Planning Workshop for Facility-Based Expanded Opt-Out Testing, held in Iloilo City. Our dedicated team, represented by Ma. Fe Salgado (HEPO IV), Dr. Carmel Libetine Noche (Medical Officer), and Ma. Dulce Fajardo (ICAP Case Manager), joined experts and advocates in this crucial event.

The workshop focused on enhancing strategies for HIV testing and ensuring that more individuals can access life-saving services with dignity and respect. As Roxas City's primary hub for HIV treatment, THAWS Roxas remains committed to providing comprehensive care, cutting-edge therapies, counseling, and education in a compassionate environment.
